201  Re: Is It Fall Yet? Gallery in The Swap Gallery by LeapFeetFirst on: September 18, 2008 04:43:04 PM
I received a wonderful fall-filled package from DropDeadSuzie today!! I am in awe of how well made everything is!
On to the photographic evidence:

When I first opened my package, everything was inside this wonderful purse/bag. I love the chocolate brown color and the button details. I forgot to take a picture of it, but the back side is an awesome warm yellow color

The next things I opened were two wallets. I love how sturdy and well made these are.

Here is a cute crocheted acorn ( I think that is what it is Grin) and the cute owl card that DropDeadSuzie sent with the package.

Next up is three awesome owl art pieces. I think this is digital art that DropDeadSuzie printed on photo paper. These are so great, and they will look awesome in my chocolate colored bedroom

A close up shot of one of the owls:

And finally, DropDeadSuzie made me a wonderful pair of flannel p.j. pants. I love the leaf fabric! I can't wait for it to get cold enough to wear these.

Thank you so much for everything!!! These items will help me remember fall when I move to Thailand next year!!!

202  Re: The Pick n Choose Theme Swap Rd2 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by LeapFeetFirst on: September 16, 2008 06:41:27 AM
I received a wonderful package from taerowyn last week, and I finally found time to take pictures last night.

Theme 1: Native Prairie plants of Wisconsin
For this theme, she made me a wonderful box decoupaged with black eyed susans and little blue stem pictures.

Theme 2: Leaves
Taerowyn sent me three of the most beautiful leaf pendants ever! I love skeleton leaves!! I have already worn these- and I get lots of compliments on them. I also love that they came in petri dishes- science is fun!!!

Theme 3: Octopus
It is hard to tell from the picture, but this is actually a stenciled t-shirt in a lovely dark blue color. I love the design and I am wearing it right now  Grin

Theme 4: Surrealism
For this theme, she made me a wonderful zipper tote with elements of some of my favorite Dali paintings. I am amazed at the detail and how dark the colors are!!
Side 1

Side 2

Theme 5: Sarcasm
Last but not least, taerowyn made me a wonderful cross stitched piece for my kitchen. The stitching is so neat and the saying is perfect!!

Thank you again taerowyn!!!!! I absolutely love everything!!

I am so glad that you liked everything taerowyn!! I have a few close up pictures that I took before I sent everything.

Here is the leaf pin. It is really hard to tell from the picture- but the surface of the pin is actually smooth. I used a technique called mica shift to make this pin.

For the box and pins I used a faux mokume gane technique. I love how these turned out!

And here is the picutre that I took last winter and photoshopped. It is indeed a leaf frozen in ice.

204  Re: Fill-A-Box Round 8 - THE EPIC GALLERY! (USA Flat-Rate Box, Sendouts by 8/23) in The Swap Gallery by LeapFeetFirst on: August 26, 2008 06:32:47 PM
I received my wonderful package of fibery and crafty goodness from Shadeweaver yesterday! I mentioned in my questionnaire that I would love to learn how to needle felt and spin yarn, and Shadeweaver delivered!!

First the over all shot. It took up my entire couch!!

Wooden church and egg shapes, letters, and three mixed bags of paper crafting items

Lots of safety eyes and noses. Straw cowboy hats, wooden shapes and random plastic whimsy items! I love the yellow octopus in the front!

Half of the fibers. I love how Shadeweaver labeled everything with the type of fiber and whether or not it was feltable! It will help me out a lot as I teach my self to spin yarn and needle felt! There is even some llama fiber there !!

Second half. Sorry for the blurry shot. This is mostly mohair and superwash merino wool in awesome colors!! Oh, and some soy silk and raw silk.

These were my favorite fibers- mostly based on color  Grin In front are some feathers and tinsel!

And finally the cherry on top of an already awesome package, Shadeweaver included a spindle, needles and a mat for needle felting, doggie brushes to card the fiber, as well as soap and instructions on how to make felted soap. She also included instructions on how to needle felt and spin yarn.

I received my wonderful package from trina447 last Friday and I have been such a slacker about getting pictures up. Sorry about that trina447!!

Here is a group shot of all the wonderful crafty goodness

Next is three wonderful quilting and polymer clay books. I have already found lots of cool ideas in the poly clay one!

Tons and tons of fat quarters and Christmas fabrics! I think my favorite is the green FQ in the front

Sewing notions, beads, note cards, ink and jewelry making supplies and a rotary cutter!

Lots of polymer clay and a clay ruler- I have been needing one of these for a while!

Finally, I received two skeins of wool yarn and lots of baggies full of beads.

Thank you for the wonderful supplies trina447!!

Yea!! I am so glad that you like everything hngoodlett!! It was so much fun crafting for you, and your tastes in books were so similar to mine that it was easy to find books for you. Now, narrowing it down to the ones I sent... that's another story.  Grin

I received my package from hngoodlett this week too!! I love everything so much!!

First we have the coolest book plates in the world!! Who doesn't love rabid gnomes?? Mmmm bloody....

Next is an awesome embroidered tote bag and an art piece made of recycled magazines. I love the seven tentacled octopus- he is so cute  Cheesy

Finally, we have the books:
The world according to Garp by John Irving
Mother Night by Kurt Vonnegut
The Color of Magic by Terry Pratchett
The Light Fantastic by Terry Pratchett

And the book that made me do a happy dance around my house, I have been meaning to buy this book for a while, and now I am happy that I didn't. I am a This American Life junkie, and David Sedaris is one of my favorites!!!!

When you are engulfed in Flames by David Sedaris.

I received two wonderful swap packages from phoenixfiredesigns and ThreadOrYarn this week!

Phoenixfiredesigns made me one of her beautiful tree of life pendants. I love the garnet gemstones! I wore this to work on Monday and I got lots of compliments

And ThreadOrYarn sent me some awesome hand spun yarn. I don't have her letter in front of me, so I am not exactly sure what it is made of, but I love the colors and the cool bows incorporated in the balled yarn.

And as an extra bonus ThreadOrYarn included an awesome hat that is similar to one on my wist and a headband. I love the dark green color of the hat. It should keep me nice and warm this winter!!

Thank you so much!!!

P.S. I seem to have lost my photo taking mojo today, so if either of you have better pictures, please feel free to post them!!

I recieved my last two stamps yesterday. I am kind of sad that I won't be getting anymore wonderful stamps in the mail  Cry. But these last two are just as awesome as my first two.

Sweetiepickles sent me this wonderful robot stamp!! Hooray for more robot-y goodness!!

And darkladymajesta sent me this wonderful customizable gnome stamp. When I first opened it- I was so confused, I couldn't understand what this was, but luckily she sent a card that helped explain it  Grin  Now I can't wait to draw all sorts of wonderful gnome faces!

Thank you ladies!! And thank you Penlowe for organizing such a wonderful swap!!

I received two wonderful packages yesterday!!!

From quilted I received a wonderful crochet swiffer cover, embroidery artwork and beautiful fabrics to use for my embroidery hoop artwork.

The awesome embroidery artwork- I love how it looks like a topo map. I love topo maps and maps in general!

A close up of the beautiful stitches

A very nice swiffer cover- I can't wait to use this!

And the gorgeous fabrics- I think the brown fabric is my favorite, but they are all wonderful.

And from girlosun_9 I received a crochet hook holder. I have been needing one of these for a long time!!

Here is an action shot with a bunch of my hooks! I love the brown and blue fabric.

And here it is all rolled up! The button closure is awesome!
