1  Painted Wicker Fabulousity!@ in Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by totallystoked on: October 25, 2009 10:22:27 PM
so I had this furniture from when I was little and I haven't used it for YEAARRRRRRRRRS.  I grew out of it a long time ago and just had a very large distaste for wicker ever since.  These aren't our before pictures but it's exactly the same items.  Ours had a lot of staining on it and didn't look super great.  So today me and the boy took out the furniture from the garage and washed it off with the hose, let it dry and repainted it black with purple drawers to match our new bedding set.  I haven't hung the mirror yet so I'll post that picture when it comes!@

2  A new dress in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by totallystoked on: September 22, 2009 06:46:33 PM
So I tried making this dress a while back, but originally it had a boat neckline and a french dart for shaping.  Which actually didn't really do much shaping at all...so I renovated the pattern I made and changed it to a princess seamed scoop neck.  I really like how the fit turned out.  I also really like the little pleats, on the other side is a silvery material.  I'm not sure what to do for the back closure, I was hoping to find some really cool button.  Any feedback? Smiley

3  Some of the designs from my portfolio! in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by totallystoked on: September 22, 2009 04:13:58 PM
Hi there! I don't have many posts, but I wanted to share with you guys some more of my designs from my portfolio that I completed in May for my college.  I just want to know what you guys think of what I've been working on Smiley  This is just a few, but if you want to see my entire online portfolio its at http://kristenanderson.carbonmade.com

I made this for my draping class

These two were made for my independent study my senior year spring semester, I mixed a lot of knits with wovens and tried to make a collection, though several pieces have yet to be photographed

I loved the fabric for this dress, it has pockets in the side seams of the skirt.

This dress used to be an AWFUL long sleeved, crew necked long dress, but I LOVED the color.  I got it at a store called Twice as Nice near pembroke MA for like 3 bucks and turned it into this little thing:

Anyway, I had a lot of fun making my portfolio and I'm glad I've had time to show you guys some of the stuff I've made! Check out my portfolio to see the sketches Smiley http://kristenanderson.carbonmade.com

4  Not your typical duct tape dress... in Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed by totallystoked on: July 19, 2009 07:19:47 PM
But really, is making a duct tape dress even typical at all?  This one I made for an independent study.  I used a garbage bag base, covered with duct tape and then streamers!  Whatchu think?

5  Ballerina Lolitaa Skirt in Clothing: Completed Projects: General by totallystoked on: July 17, 2007 06:10:28 PM
So I had a lot of fun making this, I really love how it turned out, almost exactly how I had envisioned.  I wish I had moved the flower up a little, but I like the placement from side to side.  Any comments?

Oh, and it was intentionally uneven haha, for effect.  I thought about making it all the same length but it seemed a little boring & too everyday for my current stylee.

6  *totally*new*idea* BRISTLETS in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by totallystoked on: May 04, 2007 11:58:09 AM
I'm calling them bristlets, because they have detachable bracelets.  So essentially theyre a clutch/wristlet/bracelet all in one.

7  Question about a DRESS i would love to make. in Clothing: Discussion and Questions by totallystoked on: January 17, 2006 09:12:50 PM
So, this is a silly little picture of a dress i would like to sew.  so, I know how to go about with the ruffles and the skirt part of the dress,  and I have ideas about the sleaves...but the top part I'm not so sure about because, i would like to have it gathered in the front, but not in the back....so i'm thinking 2 separate pieces....the front one having some kind of elastic, rouching it.....but i'm just not sure how i would go about attaching them together?

i also am not sure how to attach the sleaves, because i would like to be able to wear them down, or up on my shoulders...not sure if it'll be able to work both ways though.

so, i think that i'll just make 2 rectangles for the sleaves, with elastic in them to gather them and i'd like to make small ruffles on the bottom, but that wont be hard.

and with the skirt i think it'll just be a circle skirt with ruffles along the bottom, or a different type of skirt, gathered and whatnot.  the middle pieces just basic rectangles....and i'm just not sure about the top.
