21  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Dinner Ideas on: January 25, 2008 03:48:35 PM
so, my lazy butt doesn't want to walk it's way down to the caf tonight, and i don't want to order pizza/whatever.  does anyone have any ideas?  the avaliable items i have are: celery, sweet peas (i think, they're the kind in the pod still), baby carrots, cheese sticks, i have one pepper jack, colby jack, and mild chedder, peanut butter, peanuts, pecans, thaimi flavored pumpkin seeds, and a couple of sugarless j-ello cups (peach and watermelon).  i also have some chocolate whey protine mix, and those crystal light shake-em up thingers.  and the utensils i have avaliable is a microwave, a sink, a cutting board/knife, can opener, meauring cups/spoons, a coffee pot, and a 2-cup glass measuring cup.  any suggestions would be wonderful.  and i'm trying to keep it as low-carb as possible.  and my tummy is telling me it's just about "Suppertime" (to quote the wonderful "Little Shop of Horrors", but i'm no Audrey II. Tongue).  any ideas?
22  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Lettuce Wrap Ideas? on: January 18, 2008 05:48:12 AM
does anyone have any sort of lettuce wrap recipies that could easily be done in a dorm?  my only tools are a microwave, a coffee pot, a fridge, and a cutting board and knife.  i've done a little bit of lunch meat and cheese rolled up inside a piece of lettuce, but i want some other ideas.  and i also like them because they're low-carb.  so if anyone had any suggestions that would be great.  i'm also on a very tight budget, especially after i bought my books for this semester (oy vey!).  thanks in advanced!
23  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Poor College Student + Low-Carb Diet= Bad Combo on: November 28, 2007 09:52:30 PM
so i'm your average poor college studet, execept this summer my doctor put me on a low-carb diet (i've dropped a ton of weight, and i want to keep lossing) and i eat in the cafe' on a regular basis.  my problem is that there are often times stuff in the cafe' that i can't eat, because there's too many carbs and too much sugar in it.  i don't have access to a stove or oven, and i'm on a super tight budget.  i do have a microwave and a small fridge.  does anyone have suggestions for what i can do?
24  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / staying even on: November 28, 2007 09:05:13 PM
i looked back a few pages but didn't see anything of this nature, and if this is a repeat topic, my apologies.

i have a problem keeping my stiches even.  sometimes my rows will be a little longer, or a little shorter, or a few of them will be exactly the same for awhile.  is there a good way to keep them even, without counting?
25  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello on: November 26, 2007 07:45:03 PM
hi!  my sn may appear to be LordVader, but thats only because someone else had Vader, shame on you person! Tongue  anyways, i'm a crocheter and a new knifty knitter, as of a few days ago.  i'm in college and i'm a theatre major.  i've got a yorkie, his name is Microchip, but we call him Chip.  My parents live in Montana so i go there christmas and summer breaks to see them.  i've got an older sister in grad school right now.  um....i'm a bad speller, letting you know now.  and i'm at a high point in crocheting/knifty knitting right now because it's close to finals time which makes me more apt to crocheting and whatnot, very calming i find.  oh, and i ramble, a lot.  but i'm super friendly.  so hello! Smiley
