441  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Re: Cool! My grandma helped me last night on: November 28, 2007 08:48:13 PM
i just grip my hook, oddly enough.  i wrap and then i pick up each individual loop and pull it over the hooky part.  i've tried it the "real" way, but i need more practice.  i've only been at it for a couple of years, and i've made 4 scarves so far, i made 2 scarves in the process of about 3 weeks.  i love crocheting.  it's the most relaxing thing ever.

i remember my grandma's friend taught me and my cousin over spring break my freshmen year of college (i'm a jr. now).  i remember i had difficulties getting it when i was at my grandmas house and then once i got back to school i got the hang of it.  is all i could do for about 2 weeks was chain.  and i made a rediculously long chain.  it was pretty much a whole skien of yarn.  XD  i still have it somewhere.

447  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: Knifty Knitter? on: November 26, 2007 07:48:56 PM
so i just made my very first hat, i attempted one a few days ago and discovered that adding rows after you've started ribbing doesn't work out so well.  anyways, it looks great and all, but i've been trying it on a few times, and i guess i didn't tie it off right or something, and now the top is open and it's a complete mess and i have no idea how to fix it.  can someone help me?
448  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / Hello on: November 26, 2007 07:45:03 PM
hi!  my sn may appear to be LordVader, but thats only because someone else had Vader, shame on you person! Tongue  anyways, i'm a crocheter and a new knifty knitter, as of a few days ago.  i'm in college and i'm a theatre major.  i've got a yorkie, his name is Microchip, but we call him Chip.  My parents live in Montana so i go there christmas and summer breaks to see them.  i've got an older sister in grad school right now.  um....i'm a bad speller, letting you know now.  and i'm at a high point in crocheting/knifty knitting right now because it's close to finals time which makes me more apt to crocheting and whatnot, very calming i find.  oh, and i ramble, a lot.  but i'm super friendly.  so hello! Smiley
