21  Re: Swap Your Stash Discussion/Gallery in The Swap Gallery by ChrisSews on: January 26, 2012 12:50:57 PM
I received a box full of green yarns and some thread from Saintcady.  I've been collecting green yarn for a project and these will be great for that.  Thanks so much.

22  Re: 2012 DeStash-Along in Craftalongs by ChrisSews on: January 22, 2012 02:11:44 AM
brackish - those organisers are great. What do you think you would use if you made a similar storage option? I bought a bunch of ribbon by the yard that are just bundled up and could definitely do with some proper storage.

I made a bunch of those from cardboard fabric bolts.  I just asked if I could have them from my local fabric store.  They were happy to give them to me.  I cut them two different heights so they fit on the shelves I have.  Mine don't have the little tabs...just cardboard and a few straight pins on the ends to hold the fabric in place.

Here's a pic of what they look like.

23  Re: 50 Projects 2012--Join here and post your lists ! in Craftalongs by ChrisSews on: January 11, 2012 11:04:32 PM
I'm late to the game as well.  Finishing up all those projects I have planned was my crafting New Years Resolution and I want to keep up with making projects not just planning them.  I also want to craft down my stash...I'll be moving this summer so a few less boxes of material would be good!  Hopefully this craftalong will help keep me on track.

I made my list and have gotten to over 40 items I have plans for and even worse 75% of them I already have the material, supplies, patterns all picked out and ready to go.  Shocked  Most of the rest I can make pretty much just from stash supplies!

24  Poppets in Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects by ChrisSews on: December 30, 2011 06:41:05 PM
Just wanted to show off the Poppet couple I made for my partner in the Mini 12 days of Christmas swap.  She asked for a hippy couple and here's what I came up with.  These were my 1st poppets and I had lots of fun with them.  Especially dressing them and figuring out the hair.

The couple together...

The girl...she just had to have a rainbow patchwork skirt and a cute top to show off her cleavage.

It took me the longest time to figure out how to make this boy's dreadlocks.  I love how they turned out.

Day 8- I believe these are mushroom coasters. But
i think they're too cute to use as coasters.

Yep I intended them as coasters but I guess you could use them for something else...

Those action shots of your kitty enjoying his toys are too cute.  Guess he really likes catnip and wood. Smiley

There are so many cute things showing up.  I love all the felt ornaments, the stuffie making kits are a fun idea, lots of pretty fabric and supplies.

26  Re: One Tiny Stuffie Round 8--GALLERY!--Mail by 11/14/11 in The Swap Gallery by ChrisSews on: November 23, 2011 06:56:06 PM
PaperSnipper sent me the best little mushrooms (right from my Wist) and they came with their very own Sprite.

Isn't the little sprite just the cutest?

She also sent me some Sienna scent and cool glass dropper as an extra.

There are so many great stuffies on here.  I love them all!
PaperSnipper...your assistant is too cute!  Glad he's having fun with the little Reptipro.  Technically the little gecko is the tiny stuffie and the Reptipro is the extra (that's what I decided anyway when I realized it was going to have to be too big to fit in the 5x5 size limit for a OTS).

27  Re: Mini 12 Days Of Christmas 2011 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by ChrisSews on: November 13, 2011 08:01:16 PM
Day 12: A messenger bag.  I love the material and it has a cute puppy print and waterproof lining as requested.  I needed a bag to take with me for walking the dogs and taking them to the lake.  I wanted something with a waterproof section for the wet frisbee and slopperey tennis balls that always occurs.  This will be perfect.

Day 11: A great painted triptych of an octopus.  I think I'll hang this in my office.

Day 10: A laptop case and a knitting needle roll.

Day 9:Coffee!  Mug and coffee with vanilla and raspberry flavored syrups, chocolate spoons, and peppermint sticks.  I had to laugh when I saw this one, great minds think alike. I sent her almost the same thing only hot coco.

Day 8: A lip balm making kit with oil, beeswax, flavoring, vials, and instructions.  I can't find beeswax locally and was thinking about ordering some...now I won't have to.

Day 7: Needle felting supplies.  More needles (which I really needed) and roving (great colors)...all packed in a cute treasure chest.

Day 6: Things to pamper myself.  A candle, yummy soaps, sugar scrub, and lip balm.

Day 5: Lots of accessories.  Neat leaf and mushroom necklaces, rings, earrings, and hair feathers.  It came with two catchall bowls to keep everything in.

Day 4: Pretty Christmas Banner...already hanging on my mantle.

Day 3: Slippers.  I love these!  The pattern and colors are perfect and they're very soft.

Day 2: Ornaments.  Cute Salt dough ornaments.  Unfortunately some of them broke in the mail. Sad  They came wrapped in the Christmas fabric.

Day 1:  Chocolate covered pretzels.  Yummy.  There were more but hubby and I managed to eat quite a few before I took this picture.

So many great packages are showing up on here!

Here's mine from    stephfro23

She made me some great artwork.  I've loved the look of all the book page art I've been seeing lately and now I have my own.  She picked images based on things from my pinterest and I love them!

Then there is this fantastic tentacle T-shirt straight from my Pinterest.

She also made me these two great hopplas.  Can you believe these are her 1st hopplas?

And finally there was a needle roll, a stuffed seapony for my sea creatures collection, and a yarn octopus dog toy with a squeaky ball head.  It's almost too cute to give to the dogs, since they'll just destroy it.  Mine are good at chewing up their toys but they have so much fun doing it.

Thanks for a great package Steph!

29  Re: Ongoing Wish Swap Round 74 in The Swap Gallery by ChrisSews on: October 02, 2011 04:36:09 PM
It seems drgdlg had left craftster.  According to the PO she received the tree skirt I sent her last week but I hadn't heard anything from her all week.  So I went to send her a PM to make sure she got it and check to see if she wanted me to post pictures.  Well I got a message that I couldn't PM because "One or more 'to'-recipients could not be found.".  So I tried to go to her profile and it says that her "Account is awaiting approval for deletion".  Hope all is well with her but I guess she won't be posting pics.

So here is the tree skirt I made her.  She asked for a black and white ruffled Christmas tree skirt.  Here's what I made:

It's made with embroidered linen, satin, velvet, chiffon, and cotton sateen.

What a pretty bracelet.

My knitting bag finally made it to me from Australia!  Mod35tBabe sent me this great bag and needle roll.  I love the fabric!  She also sent along some fun yarn.  It has a neat and really soft texture so it might have to become a scarf or hat.  Thanks so much!
