1  COOKING / Dessert / Re: 'The Lost Boys' Cupcakes, ect on: March 24, 2009 07:04:04 PM
Thanks guys! The uncooked, colored batter looks SO much like the movie. I remember that being my favorite part of hook when I was a kid.

Casstasstrophie: I saw the idea on a cupcake website, but I ended up using my own recipe for the cake batter. You can pretty much use any recipe you prefer (even boxed) and just add food coloring.

3  COOKING / Dessert / 'The Lost Boys' Cupcakes, ect on: March 24, 2009 06:23:55 PM
I'm going through a baking stage right now. (which isn't helping the fact I have to fit into a bridesmaids dress in 3 months!) But on the flip side, I am becoming ever so popular at work, because my co-workers get to taste test my creations the next day. Hah.

These first ones are known as the "Lost Boys" by friends & family. (Those who have seen that old Peter Pan movie "Hook" will know why)

80's anyone? The insides of these were black and pink. The white zig-zag is white chocolate.

Ninja Turtles, perhaps?

Annnd these are mini-cupcakes. The cake part is mixed with cream cheese frosting and just plain ole vanilla. They are coated in white chocolate instead of icing. I'm excited to experiment with these a little more.

thanks for all the comments guys!

LaFee... For the frosted type of shrinky dink I use a combination of sharpies and colored pencil crayons

Kathhhhhy... I just search my house for tube shaped objects... I usually end up using mascara tubes or lipstick tubes.

Thanks everyone Smiley
The lashes are fake, I can't even remember where I got them.
The pink is a powder eyeshadow from MakeUp ForEver in Hot Pink, and the yellow is from MAC.

Hey Guys...
As a make-up artist, my first and foremost love is of course, make-up!
I felt inspired over the summer to create something as an ode to crafting, my second love.
So this is my beautiful sister, Melissa, modelling my PIN-CUSHION inspired make-up
