4  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / An eyelet pinafore in an hour! on: November 28, 2008 03:05:30 PM

I made this for my Alice in Wonderland costume, but I like it so much I'm going to use it all the time!

Since the hems were already finished this went together in a snap. Plus...I'm in love with eyelet. Dangerously in love. My wedding decorations are going to have eyelet out the wazoo. I even talked my fiance into registering for an eyelet shower curtain.

Anyways, I like this.

Also, the blouse and skirt underneath the pinafore are for my Ariel costume...you know, the dress she wears during "Kiss the Girl"? If I can ever talk my sewing machine into letting me understitch the bodice, I'll post that costume eventually.
5  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: Ridiculously long engagement... on: November 24, 2008 06:53:40 PM
I know your pain! P and I got engaged on April 21, 2007...and our wedding still isn't until March 13, 2010. We've gotten through it so far by focusing more on getting organized and doing our research. Now that we can start actively planning, we've laid all of the groundwork for a less-stressed wedding.
6  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Weddings and Bridal Showers / Re: man-gagement ring? on: November 24, 2008 06:50:09 PM
When P and I realized we were getting serious, he gave me his purity ring to wear- just a silver ring on a brown string. I wore it every day until he proposed. Now he wears the ring as his man-gagement ring. We've even talked about, if we have a son, giving him the ring. Keeping it in the family, so to speak. ^_^
7  Halloween / Halloween Costumes / The Validation Fairy! on: November 24, 2008 10:49:32 AM

My friend Erin and I have a running joke about validation. One will be like "I hate my life" and the other will say "validation! validation! validation!" So I was the Validation Fairy for Halloween. I waved my wand and said things like "You're pretty!" and "you're a good person!"

Originally I was going to make a ginormous fluffy skirt from tulle and baroque satin, but Zac Efron (my sewing machine) rebelled. So I came up with this. It was a fun, comfy costume.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Retro purple and black plaid tweed skirt on: November 24, 2008 06:38:21 AM
I wanted something spiffy, new, and 60s looking for my Barefoot in the Park callback. So I grabbed this from my stash, cut stuff out, and sewed this up in about two hours! The best part is that the plaid actually matches!

In case you were wondering...I didn't get the part, but I'm probably going to be the costumer!
9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: Pull Shapes! on: June 06, 2008 07:58:20 PM
I saw "Pull Shapes" and KNEW it had to be the Pipettes! I love them so much!

This dress is absolutely gorgeous and it looks like so much fun to wear! Good job!

Are you thinking about trying any other Pipettes dresses?
