1  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Kaffe Fasset-Trifold Wallet on: November 02, 2008 09:33:10 AM
Here's my attempt at a trifold wallet.  I didn't have any patterns, just an idea of what I wanted. I really like the way it came out.

Pockets for cards

Pocket for cash

A little pocket for change

I used pretty stiff felt to keep it from being too flimsy, but it's still a tad bit too floppy. Next time I would probably use something a little stiffer.
2  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Seashell Tiara on: November 01, 2008 07:12:09 PM
My Mom turned 50 over the summer and I wanted to make here something special because she would rather have something homemade then something bought.  I decided to combine her two favorite things; Crowns/tiaras and the beach.  I found a tacky tiara in my sisters basement, it had little flower charms on it. So, I ripped off all the corny stuff and glued on some seashells.  This is what I came up with..

My Mom and I

She loved it so much she cried

She loved it, what do you think about it?
3  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / My sick, sad, little colon on: March 27, 2008 05:38:31 PM
My first post evar, eek!  Like all new posters I've been lurking for a while and dying to share some of my crafts/art.  So, finally, I am.

This is a project I did for my senior portfolio class (two years ago).  I was diagnosed with Ulcerative Colitis, a chronic disease in which your large intestine is inflamed. My whole senior year I was sick and in and out of the hospital.  So, I wanted to make a representation of how I was feeling.

I wrapped a board in the material you wrap casts with. It's in a roll and you just wet it and let it dry, not sure of he proper name.  I used acrylic to draw the pills.  The fingers are actually off of a friends sculpture project. It was a cast of her hand, but the fingers broke off.  I wanted them to look like they are poking the "colon".
Here are the pictures..
