I agree! This is a great idea: it's fun and thoughtful!

33  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Discussion and Questions / How to Reproduce Map or Jazz Up Map Print (from Wheel of Time series)? on: December 05, 2008 11:53:44 AM
I have been struggling with things to make my Dad for Christmas. He is really into Robert Jordan's Wheel of Time book series, and I thought that maybe I could do something with a map of "Randland" (the fantasy continent featured in the series). Here are some renditions of the map: http://www.sevenspokes.com/world/wallpaper.html

Any ideas on how I could reproduce the map? I do not know how to draw or paint, but I am not adverse to trying something simple. Any ideas on how I could print the map out (from the above website) and make it special (make it not look like a simple printout from the web)?

39  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Re: Crazy Quilted Christmas Cracker Crowns on: November 19, 2008 06:16:17 AM
Brilliant! I want to do it for Xmas now!  Re the crowns, did you put elastic in so they would fit everyone? Or did you make them all the same, or fit them for each person?  Anyway, what a brilliant idea.  Thanks for more inspiration!

Q - What's brown and sticky?
A - A stick.
*groan*

This has been my favourite groaner for many, many years.

I don't have any suggestions, but I wanted to thank you for the idea - I think that I am going to make this for my dad.
