Thank you everyone !!!

Well the day after I did those hooks my girlfriends came back the next day we did even more hooks.  I'm going to upload those to the original thread Smiley  It was so much fun!!  We incorporated beads and my goodness I now want to cover anything I can get my hands on with clay LOL  I now fully understand clay and its addictive qualities LOL

you bake them in the oven with the index cards?

yuppers, such a low heat and only in there for about 10-15 minutes didn't even effect the cards.  We are going to re-use them tomorrow.

Thank you so much, I have to give credit to my buddy mar...she crochet's mostly with thread and she got the idea from somewhere to help her with her itty bitty thread hooks.
I of course think thread crochet is awesome but would need to consume wine or something to attempt LOL

Yuppers, cover the hooks however you want design wise.  Make sure the ends are covered so the hooks don't slide out lol and bake according to the clay package directions.  My clay said 275 degree oven for about 10 - 15 minutes.  A little hint, I laid my hooks on index cards before placing them on the cookie sheet to go in the oven.  It stops the side its laying on from going shiny from the pan.

My girlfriends are coming over tomorrow with their clay, beeds and hooks we plan on covering them all LOL

Hey there, first if this is on the wrong board please feel free to move or give me a heads up Smiley

I love love to crochet and not long ago a friend from my crochet group covered one of her hooks with clay.  I loved the look and feel but have never worked with clay.

We had a girls day today of crochet and near the end she showed me what I needed to do to cover my hooks.  I only had to two colors but I can say I will have new colors very soon and will cover every hook I own...well except my Brittany's of course lol

thanks for letting me share Smiley

**updated, we did more Smiley
Here's a pic of all the ones we did together

and here's just mine

That black & yellow one is my ode to the Steelers LOL

Tracie's, she made her's much thicker cuz she crochet's for a living and its better on her hands.  You can visit her at http://fibersbytracie.com/ and one more brag she just got published in the lastest issue of Crochet.

and finally Margarita's set.

thanks again for letting me share.

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Valentine's Day / Re: Rubik's Cube Of ME!!! Valentines gift (PIC CHUBS) on: February 16, 2008 09:14:16 AM

I went through thousands of pictures! HA!

Is it weird that Im getting all sentimental waiting to hear his response?
I seriously got teary eyed thinking about the way your conversation would go;
ok I'll shut up now, I sound weird! LOL
[/quote]

you don't sound weird at all, dh called today and since he hasn't gotten the box yet I've asked him to hold of on opening till we can be on the phone together!!  I at least want to hear his reaction.
He's leaving camp today till next wed so I hope its there when he gets back.

I've got about 4 girl friends that I exchange Christmas gifts with and I think I'm going to do these for them this Christmas.

GREAT idea but i think it's quite time consuming??!!  way to go!!

I can add to that it didn't take long at all, took more time picking which pictures I wanted to use.

Mine is in the mail, when he calls tomorrow I'm thinking of asking to wait to open the box till he can call me again.  I usually hear from him once a week so he wouldn't have to wait too long LOL

CheyElizabeth, yours turned out great!!!!
