1  REUSING/RECYCLING/RECRAFTING / What the heck can I do with THIS? / Ugly reusable shopping bags on: August 22, 2010 08:51:28 AM
I have these 2 bags that came with my school books when I bought them this last two semesters. They are large bags made of the cheap canvas looking fabric most places who sell reusable shopping bags cheap use. They are functional but not very attractive. Any ideas on how to jazz them up a bit. One is red the other orange. I would like to convert at least one to a project bag to take with me when I am out and about. Thanks in advance.

3  BATH AND BEAUTY / Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions / I Have a Stinky Problem- Help Please! on: July 02, 2009 08:55:38 AM
My DH just got a new job hauling animal byproducts (yuck). I would like to know what additives to handmade soap would help get the smell off his skin? I love handmade soap and hope to someday make my own, and I'm sure the goat milk one we use will not help with the smell. Any advice will be very appreciated.
4  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Completed Projects / Squeeee!!! I Made Yarn!!! on: August 14, 2008 07:17:41 AM
I love spinning, I hade so much fun with my home made spindle. I am also super happy with how it turned out, I was not expecting it to look like yarn. LOOKIE!!!

(sorry the pic is crappy, and my junk is in there)

The one on the right was mu first attempt, lots of tiny curly spots you cant see. The second one was when I forgot I only predrafted 2/3 of the fiber, and I was so excited to finish. I spun the rest up and it came out alot more consistant. I now hove 2 tiny skeins (12ish yards and 8ish yards) of handspun yarn.

I have about 2.5 onces of different color roving for my next yarn, and after thats gone DH is letting me order from Sheep Shed Studios once we have paid on the credit card. *runs around house doing happy dance*
5  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Newbie Alert: how do you clean a hand carder? on: August 07, 2008 01:42:56 PM
Ok I have a spindle, and some decent roving to practice with (yeah). I was given a hand carder but it still has a little bit of fiber in it that I dont want. I wanted to blend some of the colors of the roving, so I was wondering how do you clean the fibers from a hand carder. Thanks for any responses.
6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Not sure if this is considered a craft but Im so proud.... on: March 23, 2008 04:56:45 PM
of my hubby. He decided to modify some of his diecast models on his own and this last one turned out so nice I thought I would share.

Before and after...the orange is before. He painted it white and added a higher side to the dump bed.

Finished pic

Hes been doing different types of modifications and is really getting good.  Cheesy
7  CLOTHING / Clothing for Kids: Completed Projects / Baby head scarf on: December 07, 2007 07:44:03 AM
I made this headband/scarf for a friend's daughter first birthday.

I made wider straps and used Velcro to make it easier to get it on a baby.

This is my 2yr old in it, shes feeling a little shy today.
