1  CRAFTY BUSINESS ADVICE / Selling Crafts on Etsy.com / Your Etsy Shop-AFTER THE FEES! on: October 05, 2005 08:25:42 AM
Hi, I know right now everyone is on the Etsy bandwagon.

I was just wondering how much people have given thought to the fact that November 1st is right around the corner and Etsy is going to start charging fees.

How many of you intend to pull out when fees start or would you still stick around and pay 20 cents to list and 3.5% of the selling price? Especially those who have not sold anything as yet and have no feedback.

What are your thoughts about Etsy after the fees?

Would you cut back on the number of items you have posted right now?

Would the fees affect you?

Make (and receive) two (2) wallets to be sent out to two (2) different swap participants. Wallets are fun accessories and a nice way to organize your $$$ and cards. You can choose whether the two wallets sent are different or the same in terms of construction and/or designs. Variety is always encouraged-it's only two!

Feel free to experiment. Wallets can be made out of fabric, vinyl, leather, duck-tape etc. They can be sewed, knitted, crocheted-whatever you like. Different colors, designs, embellishments-The sky's the limit! Should be able to fit at least dollar bills and cards and be realistic to carry around with you. For ease of postage make sure that they can fit in an envelope.

For general instructions on how-to check out these wallet tutorials. Remember, wallets can be sewed, knitted, crocheted-whatever you like! Unfortunately, I have not seen any tutorials for crocheted or knitted wallets, that's where your creativity comes in. Anyway, have fun Smiley

3  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Swap a Wallet :) on: February 25, 2005 01:06:44 PM
Hi I just like the Super Cute Wallet idea by hdoglovesyou, that I thought a wallet swap would be great. If swappers use that tutorial to make them http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=20925.0 then people can make at least 2 wallets and receive 2 wouldn't that be fun? Of course there are other styles of wallets that people could make, but this tutorial is quite simple for people to construct one or two or maybe even a little more. What do you all think?
