1  CROCHET / Crochet: Completed Projects / FO: Mint Chocolate Chip MiniPurse on: April 14, 2010 06:54:27 PM
Hey guys, I haven't posted here in a LOOOOOOOOOOOOONG time. College, Work, and life has been keeping me super busy! But anyways I only had enough brown yarn left over to make a smallish purse and I dont particularly like using it all up and then buying a new skein of yarn just to finish a project when I dont normally use the brand of yarn that I used for the brown.

Was babysitting for a lil bit and finished up this cute mini-purse. It was going to be a clutch, but I kinda underestimated my crochet skills and came up with this small purse. I think its super cute for young girls. The 7yr old who watched me make this couldnt stop gleeing over how it reminded her of Mint Chocolate Chip ice cream. Thus the name of this mini-purse. The buttons, I got from an old shirt that I had worn to pieces and were unfortunately the last two buttons I had in white. I loooove those kind of buttons too and hope to find more plain boring solid-colored basic craft buttons like these somewhere online. (But they only sell the giant ones for kids for crafting. They dont have smaller ones that arent TOO SMALL.)

Im thinking of selling this, but Im unsure if anyone would want this. Especially since I havent gotten it lined yet nor have I decided on whether to make a green/white flap with button closures or sew a zipper closure.

Forgive me for my hands, its there for size-reference. >u>;;

What do you guys think? Cheesy It's super tiny, so I figured it'd be cute for a lil girl or something.
2  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / We're goin'.... JELLYFISHING!! on: February 17, 2008 06:47:40 AM
So I made a jellyfish... And I only had light blue and dark blue... (which is good since the person I'm making this for's favorite color is light blue.)

x3 I hope the pictures come up... @_@ I kinda sort of just... winged it... So I don't know exactly what I did... but I do remember that the tentacles were ch23, and sl st all the way back... And if you used ww yarn... You can like... "crinkle" the tentacles to give it a wavy look... (I attempted with mine, but... I was kinda rushed too) That and my younger brother will not stop messing with the tentacles... (And I am in teh middle of making one for him just so he doesn't mess with my friend's present) Gosh, I hope the pictures aren't too big. @_@ I'm photobucket dumb...

Oh... the person 'wearing' the jellyfish is my little brother. ^^; He ain't little... Cause he's... 6 inches taller than me.
3  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / Glow in the Dark Yarn?? on: January 27, 2008 11:13:37 AM
I am obsessed with anything that glows in the dark and a friend mentioned that there is glow in the dark yarn.

Can you get these glow in the dark yarn at stores like JoAnn's or Michael's? Or do I need to find some sort of specialty yarn store?

Also, if any of ya'll have bought glow in the dark yarn online... Could you lead me to places that has good comfortable yarn? I plan on making a cute undergarment set out of it.
4  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Heartless witch, am I? on: December 20, 2007 06:12:25 PM
Okay... A few people over on the crochet side know of my being dumped by my fiance. (he didn't tell me that he wanted to break up with me and married some girl last month.)

I called him up to ask why didn't he bother calling me to tell me anything since I felt like I was practically ignored these past few months of playing phone tag... I would leave messages on his phone saying how much I love him and stuff... And when he calls, he doesn't bother leaving a message or anything...

But anyways... he decides to tell me that I'm a heartless b**ch that controls him and that I don't deserve to be loved by any person in the world. Funny... The majority of my friends know that I'm always the one letting people do as they please cause I'd rather they be happy than to start a war. That's just my personality...

Thanks to him... It inspired me to work on this double-knitting of the "heartless" emblem from a video game called Kingdom Hearts... The graph took me about 3 hours to figure out since there was no internet access at work and I was wanting to get this done as soon as possible... I'm thinking of making a bunch of these and sewing them all together to make a nice warm blanket for myself, the "heartless b**ch".

Here's one side...

And the reversed side...

It's my first time completing a double knitting... And I forgot to twist the yarn after each row, so I kinda double crochetted the edge all around so it doesn't look floppy... This piece took me roughly 8-9 hours to do cause I'm having to refer to the graph and do alot of counting in my head. I'm very slow at knitting... @_@ Everyone thought I was crazy and that I should quit cause "knitting is for old people", but I enjoyed it and I'm close to having my 21st birthday!! Tell me what you think!
5  CROCHET / Crochet: Discussion and Questions / A little too early for the best Christmas present... on: December 17, 2007 07:11:32 PM
Okay... So I was engaged to this guy who is now lives in California (I live in Georgia)... And it'd be almost one whole year since our engagement next month...

For Christmas, I was making him a blanket cause I remembered him telling me that it was cold where he is.

Well... tonight, I had a very rude awakening 3/4 finished with the blanket... and I found out that he had "completely forgotten" to call to break the engagement and got married to some girl he's known since May or June... (I hadn't gotten a hold of him for the past month cause of the time difference...) This was perhaps the best Christmas present I have ever gotten my entire life... A smack upside the face with the message "Yea, I'm married to Michelle." ringing in my ears... Angry

So now I have an almost finished blanket and lost all motivation to finish it... What would you do in a similar situation?
6  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Felting Double Knitting... on: December 16, 2007 09:24:18 AM
I was curious if it's possible to felt double knitting? (or anything that ends up having like stars or some sort of design on both sides)

Will the design stay in place?

Will the design look right?

Would both yarn look really really unusual?

I don't know much about felting, but I was gonna ask a friend to felt something for me (if and whenever I get to finish it cause it's coming out ALOT wider than I thought)... But I don't want to ruin it if it's not gonna look right.

Please help?
7  CROCHET / Amigurumi: Completed Projects / lil Tadpole... on: December 04, 2007 07:08:16 PM
Okay, please don't laugh... I haven't crochetted in a long while. (about 5-6 years) And I was very limited in yarn... But I made this for a guy friend in my class who loves tadpoles... It's supposed to be a tadpole. ^^; I'm kinda pleased with it, but people kept calling him a sperm cell until I finally got some white yarn to finish the tail. ><

here's two pics of him. I'm sorry for the horirble quality of them... I don't own a digital camera and all I have is a webcam.

There's no pattern, but he's pretty easy to make... Just make an egg... And then make like... a bookmark, kinda and attach the two together. His arms and legs are just chains. And teh eyes and mouth are embroidered with lack of skills. ><
8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Easy first project! Cat-eared hat! on: November 25, 2007 11:19:32 AM
So yes... I'm new here, not exactly new to knitting cause I've been knitting since about... 7 years ago. Crochetting for abotu 10 years.... But it was all on and off... I'd be interested, and then I'd get too busy and stop... And then I'd get back on it... and then stop...

But even though I've started years ago, ever since then, I've NEVER finished a project. Not even a washcloth...

So, I worked my hardest making this... Which took me 2 non-stop hours to make. And it's actually pretty easy. It's mostly knit, but there's a bit of crochet in there too cause I messed up on the size of the hat and it wasn't as long as I wanted it to be. xD And forgive me for teh lack of quality... I was rushed to get this picture taken.

(me looking up)

(me looking down)

And I forgot to take side pictures... But it's a really simple hat to make really... It was inspired by a Japanese comic that I read a while back.
