The first (pink) is Phelix, who is consistantly happy (unless he's mistaken for a girl). Made with one strand pinks/purples fun fur, one strand pinkish-orangish-hot redish color yarn on the KK flower loom. He was made twice as big and folded inward to be fuzzier (and hide the stuffing better) and is stuffed with polyfill. His non-furry yarn doesn't show up nearly as much as it looks, nor does it look THAT orange.

His friend, Gafnit, is a bit of a lush. Made with 2 strands red boa yarn and one strand auburn worsted weight, she didn't need to be made twice as big, and is filled with yarn and cloth remnants.

Both are entirely out of stash, including the felt, embroidery thread, and buttons.

Phelix was originally going to be a test drive on making stuffies on the loom, but soon looked like a tribble. Once finished, he REALLY needed a face. The face made him look more like a pygmy puff (the way I "saw" them in the books- in the movies their faces were kinda scary!)

I have a feeling, as I have LOTS of fun fur and boa stash left, that I may soon be making an army.

A friend gave me a giant box of leftover yarn. My 8 y/o and I immediately started to knit a hat for my great niece, whose family is moving here in less than a week (!) so I ended up finishing it for my daughter. The reverse 'ribbing' is done with a e-wrap stitch, the rest is purl stitched, as that seems easier for 8 y/o hands to accomplish. The "rose" on top (which I didn't get a decent photo of) was done with a technique I learned in a tutorial long ago, I may have botched it as I couldn't find the tute again. The light pink yarn seemed to be an acrylic, I have no idea about the rose colored yarn

I get lots of stuff in the mail via internet. So I have LOTS of boxes. I used two to make a cabinet:


Done solely with stuff found around my house, including cardboard (mail boxes) masking tape, mod podge, pennies, watch parts, and broken jewelry, and a lot of pages out of a book about Ireland that I bought at the thrift store a long time ago. I also added a length of ribbon between the... I can't remember what they're called, the things that hold paper together with two prongs? to hold the doors shut.



Next time, no masking tape to keep the top/bottom flat, instead I believe I'll use wire nails. It is sturdy enough, and is currently hung on the wall via thumbtacks and being used as a medicine cabinet. My 8 year old wants to help make one.

I'm in a shadowcast, and because we didn't have enough people to make a costume change for Dr Horrible, the quick changes were covered by a puppet:



Made of flannel (which, in retrospect, I wouldn't suggest, but everything else was already in my house, and I got the flannel on sale, so he effectively cost $1.00 to make), cardboard and felt for the mouth and features, gold puffy fabric paint and darker antique acrylic for the hair (I didn't have yellow or brown) his shirt was a toddler's shirt cut down to size that I wish I had had time to mend a bit, the med symbol was drawn on by hand with fine point sharpies. The goggles were made of coke bottle tops and felt, and more

I also made many of our other props for the show, including a crappy freeze ray (Daughter's broken water gun + acrylics)



And a mini captain hammer for the scene during "Brand New Day" when he gets stepped on. His paint job was done the night before, and again, a toy stolen from my daughter that I had to replace an arm (taken from McD's Astro Boy) cuz the dog had chewed it.

Two hats made with loom, both on green knifty knitter round loom.


Fuzzy hat... normal brimmed hat. Used one strand dark green acrylic strand, one strand fun fur in greens & blues. LOVE this hat. (My tie collection is on the wall behind it...)




Brim hat, no pattern. First time doing purl stitch, had to figure out a brim by myself. Did make it too short, but my 7 year old likes it. Used one strand chunky yarn.



The top of the hat... wish I had a better picture. It looks like a flower. Again, no pattern, tried to make it flat.

So, I found two grocery-sized (ish) bags of random felt remnants and such... some of it was a yard or two of it! Of quite a few colors. I also happened to have some (cheapish) embroidery thread.

Now, when I get a bit tipsy at our local favorite bar (in between badly sung karaoke songs) I tend to draw characters I refer to as Happy (or Sad, or whatever) Penises. Penises that have the anime/Japanese style emoticons for faces (Such as ^.^ an whatnot)

A slightly off attempt, I for some reason thought that instead of whipstitching (which I think gives them character) I sewed it (all by hand) rightsides facing in. He ended up looking... a lil lopsided, and with his expression (A rather dismayed look X_X) he was henceforth named Igor. Unfortunately this photo (of him stealin the spotlight from a friend's facebook) is the only decent photo I have... Igor is a recluse, who works in a lab, and is an Aries.

This was a gift for a good girl friend of mine, who's husband is on deployment with the Navy. She has named him E2 AS-Seamen Recruit Willy. He has a (rather weird looking) navy hat (standard stiffy issue, of course!) which is removable, and a lovey kissey face (^3^) which I am trying to demonstrate rather poorly in the photo adjoining.

I don't have a photo of my fourth attempt, because he was promptly sold to a family friend. As I had to quit my parttime job, I'm seriously considering selling these rather popular lil boys since they are SO fun to make and soon my purse will be filled... they travel EVERYWHERE with me. And hey, if that weird lady at the bar can sell old half dead roses, why can't I try to sell some stuffy stiffies?

Now, one of the reasons I do these is cuz I have horrible insomnia lately... insomnia does not bode well for designing and implementing new ideas. For instance, I first made the labia (yes, only one set... I got so frustrated!) sewed it and stuffed it, sewed the backing/inside, THEN attached the clitoris, which should have gone on first in retrospect... she has no face, as it was just a trial.

If anyone is interested, I can try to scan my various templates, although it's pretty straightforward and easy.

So... I cross-stitched something for the first time in ages.

I may have to add another penis or a vagina on the other side, and I'm not happy with the pubic hair... I should have picked a brownish color. I haven't finished it off yet, in case I decide I want to change that.

The font was done with a free font online, although I did that months ago and can't find it now, the penis is all me, in fact, I sorta stitched the outline without having any idea at all what I was doing.

At my boyfriend's house (who lives with two other guys and a pretty useless girl, so it's VERY bachelor-esque) there are five towels. To get to the bathroom from his bedroom, I must walk in the hallway visible by the livingroom.

Suffice to say, I don't like walking there naked. And I don't like putting my clothes on after sex without a bit of wiping up. So I decided to buy my very own towel for my very own vagoo... which then became a project to make sure no one else uses my vagoo towel.

I just hope he doesn't throw it in the laundry to take to his father's house like he does with everything else. >.<

I am doing a whole bunch of paintings on CDs. I like the shineyness behind it, it gives me practice painting (which I haven't done since I was a freshman in hs) and it gives me an excuse to get rid of all these old CDs.

I don't have a wall really where I can mount them, so I can't figure out what to do with them all... any ideas?

Links to the images (crappy photos, I'm sorry, and my technique has gotten SO bad... but it sort of shows the pretty shine behind the paintings. In some places the shine doesn't go through cuz the paint's thicker, and the first painting is... what happens when I've had a bahama mama and am up painting at three am. >.< I added more photos to it to show the shine & the textureyness. I'm experimenting with glaze, the last one isn't glazed yet cuz I'm afraid to screw it up, as it's a quarterway decent.

For his birthday (March 1st) my boy is getting several crafty items, one of which I have already completed... the pink fluffy loincloth!

It's an inside joke, before we started dating I told him I wanted a manservant to cook and clean for me and I'd make him wear a pink loincloth... well, I happened to have pink fleece left over from a project I did two christmases ago, and I LOVE making things out of leftovers. It is completely no-sew, and the straps have stretched a little bit, but I LOVE it.

the Metrosexual Kitty Monster was made for my friend Rae, who loves all things metrosexual (especially her husband) and is wearing the latest fashion... a Placebo "tattoo" and a boa!

The wings are a symbol on one of the CDs of her FAVORITE band, Placebo. She once told me she wanted them tattooed on her. And I wanted to make something about this very ugly kitty monster pretty. The stencil with all those little peices was HARD WORK to cut out in a plastic sheet, so I actually used a peice of notebook paper to make the stencil, and colored it with gold fabric paint pen.

His eyes and face are rather ugly and twisted because I wanted him to match his body. While I intended for him to be a monster, I didn't intend for him to be such a weird shaped monster, but I decided to go with it.

His hair is made out of that furry yarn, and his body and face are entirely made out of scrap fabrics.

He was her Christmas present, which I FINALLY got to her. Like everything I make, I decided once I was finished that he wasn't cutishly ugly but just ugly, but I'm still proud of the stencil, the hair, and his cute crooked eye.
