1  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / U2 Swirly Skirt on: August 14, 2008 04:47:50 PM
Made this skirt from Butterick 5042...it's my third skirt and I'm really happy with the results. First time using linen too, which worked perfectly for the skirt. Very swirly twirly. Was listening to U2 while sewing. Enjoy and thanks for looking!

2  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Nick PJ Shorts on: July 04, 2008 03:31:43 PM
I made a pair of pj shapes from tracing a pair of some old ones. They are cottony for summer. They are rather roomy which is fine by me. The fabric is very art deco, non?

3  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Sasha Bag on: June 27, 2008 09:25:33 AM
I made a handy bag that can be used for makeup, jewelry, school supplies or extra sewing notions. I'm taking a trip next week or so and decided it would make a perfect bag to carry my toothbrush, toothbrush and shower supplies. I used velcro and some funky denim fabric. I think I may make another one with a zipper. Thanks for looking!

4  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Relax (Take it Easy) Zippy Pillow on: June 20, 2008 08:56:23 AM
I can't believe how easy it was to make this pillow! It was my second time working with a zipper so it went a lot faster and easier than last time. Used a pillow form (14x14) on the inside. Very fun and quick project! Thanks for looking!

5  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / Cure Beach Bag on: June 13, 2008 08:01:04 AM
I made a sturdy beach bag for going to the pool and appliqued a whale in the corner. It was hard work with such thick material but I'm happy with the end result and hope it gets good use.

6  COOKING / Dessert / Cupcakes, the Eurovision Song Contest and Totoro on: May 24, 2008 05:42:29 PM
Tonight I made cupcakes from Isa's Vegan Cupcakes Take Over the World...I used the basic golden cupcake recipe with minor adjustments and the vanilla buttercream frosting. I piped it on with a frosting piper I got from Target.  I've been watching the Eurovision Song Contest and it felt like a cupcake night. Just thought I'd share a pic.

Oh, and Totoro helped. Wink

7  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Echt Beach Wrap on: May 23, 2008 09:49:04 AM
Hi-I made an easy beach wrap skirt to wear to the pool this summer. The actual wrap is about 5 times as big as shown in the picture-it wraps quite a lot! And the ties wrap around on top too. I had fun making it-hope you enjoy viewing the resulting pics! Thanks!

8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Jeans to Skirt on: May 16, 2008 07:39:04 AM
I took a pair of jeans from a thrift store and transformed them into a skirt. Then I picked up some discount fabric from the craft store and made a really simple belt to jazz it up a bit. Enjoy looking at my Zucchero Skirt! Thanks!

9  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Ian Hat on: April 30, 2008 03:58:12 PM
I'm a novice sewer...and I only learned what the word rickrack meant last week. But now I am rickrack happy and have a comfy hat with rickrack trim. Maybe simple to many, but to me this is progress! My stitches are becoming straighter/more even...still need help matching thread colors but that's ok. I'm sure this hat will get plenty of wear-it's very spring! Thanks for looking!

Edit: Note: I did not make the hat...just put on the rickrack. Wink
10  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Pity my Penguin Basket Liner on: April 26, 2008 03:49:22 PM
So I found a cheap basket the perfect size I wanted.
And I found some fantastic penguin fabric.
And I found a pattern to make a basket liner.
And days and hours of frustration later I ended up with a penguin basket liner that bunches in the corners and won't lay flat. And I think my sewing machine hates me for the torture I put it through trying to make this.
But it's done. And it functions. And I still really like the fabric.
So please peruse the photos and pity my penguin basket liner.
Thanks.
