Did we want to try to meet up this sunday? I finished my socks! (yay!) and have had more time to work on the blanket, though I don't expect to be done with that for months.

I think it's fantastic-and I doubt the color stopped anyone from eating it! Great job!

I'm free this Sunday. Just name a time and place and I'll be there. I haven't been doing much knitting lately-much too hot to get motivated, though I've worked on my socks some. I've been doing a bit of sewing though-just little things-but it's been fun.

I'm a novice sewer...and I only learned what the word rickrack meant last week. But now I am rickrack happy and have a comfy hat with rickrack trim. Maybe simple to many, but to me this is progress! My stitches are becoming straighter/more even...still need help matching thread colors but that's ok. I'm sure this hat will get plenty of wear-it's very spring! Thanks for looking!

Thanks for all the comments everyone! Yeah, I hate to say it but the pattern just wasn't a very good one-next time I make a basket liner I'm definitely going to find one in a more reliable source with better directions and photos/illustrations!

Great I hope your knitting, embroidery and all-other-craftiness are all going well! I've worked on my sock some but the past two weeks have been extraordinarily busy...it's the last 2 weeks of the semester so all of my projects are due at once-I've been working on them on weekends just to get them done. But at last, I'm done! Oh, I did sew a basket liner the other day...you can find it in the forums if you're interested-it's ok. But now that classes are over (temporarily-I will be taking 2 in summer) hopefully I'll have more time to do some fun projects. I'm glad the SnB book worked out for you-those are the techniques I use when I change colors (or just change balls/skeins when I run out). I like different ways for different projects-do you have a favorite or have you just tried one so far? Oh BTW I got an extra copy of a knitting magazine for free the other day if you or cookie want it-I'll bring it next time we hang out. Later!

So I found a cheap basket the perfect size I wanted.
And I found some fantastic penguin fabric.
And I found a pattern to make a basket liner.
And days and hours of frustration later I ended up with a penguin basket liner that bunches in the corners and won't lay flat. And I think my sewing machine hates me for the torture I put it through trying to make this.
But it's done. And it functions. And I still really like the fabric.
So please peruse the photos and pity my penguin basket liner.
