1  Question about bleaching a patterned couch cover to plain in Crafty Housewares: Discussion and Questions by Glojo on: January 21, 2011 01:06:58 PM
I have an Ikea couch cover that looks like this:

And I'm sort of dang sick of it. I just moved and I'm trying to go for a vintage industrial feel. But new covers are always a bazillion dollars and not worth it really, so I would rather reuse the one I have

So my question is, what will happen if I try and bleach the pattern out of this cover? Will it work? How should I do it (concentrations, etc)?

I don't need it to be perfect looking (industrial to me is an excuse to have shoddy furniture xD), and I don't need it to be white (I'd rather it not be white) because I think bleached fabric turns off-white?

Whooa, wisting the itty bitty motifs book!  All of these swap packages have been so great! Mine being no exception (by far the best package I've gotten yet, it's perfect!)  I think I have a craftster crush on korok  <3

The goods:
-A cupcake project bag complete with pockets for needles and a larger pocket for patterns, etc.
-A hand-painted robot pillow case to match my other pillows.
-Stamped robot cupcake toppers and some containers of sprinkles.
-A set of robot notecards and the handmade stamp she used if I want ot make more of my own
....even the polka dot tissue paper was cute.

Oh, and this hilarious note attached to the robot pillow case:

"...this made me think of splatters you would see if a robot went berzerk and shot other robots with his lasers. Why would the robots bleed? It's robotic fluid I guess."  xD

Thank you so much korok!! Cheesy

Glad you enjoyed it ENGRbyDAY! I had "fun" learning to use velvet flocking..will have to keep practicing. I saw this picture a friend of mine had taken while in New York City:

....and always wanted to paint it. I'm not really a painter so that never happened...but when I saw your ATC request for a cityscape I knew just the thing : )

I was super sad I couldn't attend the meet-up last spring...but it seems like it's been a while and maybe we're due for another?

Anyone with me?

I feel kind of amateur with my sub par, point and shoot pics but oh well, still like them. Taken at High Park in Toronto, Ontario.

7  Fascinators and Other Hair Things in Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General by Glojo on: January 19, 2010 10:13:10 AM
I've quipped on other people's awesome stuff, I've done some swapping, but I'm not sure I've ever posted anything I've actually made...so here goes...

First attempt at a fascinator! I love it but have problems with the wire bending out of whack (do they have heavier gauge wire in the coated colours I wonder?)

Fascinator number 2, made to match my new tattoo, which you can see here: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=334366.msg3870247#msg3870247

#3 Made for a friend at work, ultimately I ended up glueing the end of the feather down so it was curved instead of sticking straight out:

Close up of flower, made from glue gun, pantyhose, glitter, wire. I even made the stamen(?) myself! : )

This was the first attempt beyond glue-gunning a dollar store flower to a hair clip. The black flower was made with pantyhose and wire:

Some other basic-ish ones, embellished with my super AWESOME Martha Stewart glitter <3  I talked about it for days to my co-workers who aren't big craft geeks....

Th-th-th-that's all folks! C & C muchly appreciated!

8  Re: Post your CRAFTY Tattoos! in Bath and Beauty: Completed Projects by Glojo on: January 19, 2010 10:01:35 AM
Not designed myself BUT my artist designed it to look exactly like a cupcake I made. Wish I had a comparison pic but the only difference is that the dragees in real life were metallic and the frosting was brighter but all and all she did a great job! And at the end the session she got a tip AND a tasty cupcake to eat.

If you're wondering, it was Guinness chocolate cupcake with Bailey's frosting and a white chocolate disc topper coloured cheetah with gourmet writers. The tattoo was done by Dana(?) at Way Cool Tattoos in Toronto, Ontario.

Alright, pictures of the lovely little clutch I got from smackk.

She made me a tea wallet too, whooohoo.

She asked me if bright bright green lining was alright....it's my favourite part : D

The tea wallet open (with equally bright tea pour exemple).

Now when I open my purse I can warn people that they should put on sunglasses first, harhar. And the finishing of the purse, as I told smackk, is so professional and perfect! Well sewn, well pressed, good job.

Yayyyy thanks smackk!

My roommates' response to the purse: "What was in that mysterious box?" ::glojo shows them purse:: "Ohhhh....whoa..coool. But uhh...you'd better make sure this person isn't stalking you?" It is soo perfect, and soooo me, I love it, and haven't used another purse since I got it Cheesy Thank you averyg!!!!!!!!
