From what I've read on the forums, since wood is a porous medium you need to prep it first. Something simple like a coat of paint. What I haven't heard, are all paints safe for the oven?

Hi, I just joined about an hour ago.

I've looked at the glitter at Michael's and Hobby Lobby but can't find any that actually say the words heat resistant. Are they all ok or am I missing something? I would really like to add glitter to some of the christmas ornaments i'll be making.

I bet you could play around with the recipe by adding a bit more citronella and also sell it as a fancy bug repellent.
