1  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / A Mouse born on Christmas Day! on: December 25, 2009 02:07:19 PM
I found this pattern on Ravelry and had to make her!  Grin Here she is:

2  TOYS, DOLLS AND PLAYTHINGS / Toys, Dolls and Playthings: Completed Projects / Sofa Cat! New Friend of Sofa Dog on: December 24, 2009 07:48:18 AM
Here is my new Sofa Cat made from a McCall's pattern (M4893). I wanted him to match Sofa Dog http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=290092 but didn't have enough of the fabric left so I had to work really hard to make the scraps fit the shapes of Sofa Cat's body! Most of the body is made up from patches of left over fabric. Here he is:

3  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My new Jalie Top! on: December 13, 2009 01:14:15 PM
Nice work!!

I've wondered how that pattern handles, if you know what I mean.  Do you think it would have been easier using a heavier knit fabric?

I think a heavier knit fabric would probably have been easier but my main problem was getting my tension/settings right on my sewing machine. It took me several hours! Of course I've made a note of these so I don't have to work them out again ...

The pattern itself was fantastic. I kept worrying about the sizing all the way through but I really shouldn't have it turned out perfect. Once you've got your machine setup it sews up really easily.

Hi Craftsters,

I've just finished my first Lycra top! I hope I won't have to work with lycra again for quite some time ... but I'm happy with how it turned out. I used the Jalie 2449 cross-over top pattern.

6  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / My Fridge Spice Rack!! on: January 24, 2009 08:32:44 AM
I saw a picture on the Internet of a "spice rack" that I really liked so decided to make one myself! I made them out of these aluminium watchmakers cases and printed out some labels on the PC and carefully stuck them on the side of each spice case. They will soon be stuck to the fridge with rare earth magnets when I buy some glue strong enough to hold these little magical magnets.

Here it is:

I'm hoping to buy 12 more cases so that I can have all my spices on the fridge. Because they are not as big as the normal spice bottles I'm planning to keep my spice refills in little bags in stackable containers to save space.
7  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General / My Heart Pencil Case on: January 24, 2009 08:16:35 AM
I needed a pencil case for my trusty old coloured pencils that I picked up from my parents house. It's made out of some scraps of fabric I picked up from freecycle and a zip from a huge batch of small zips I bought on eBay.

Here it is:

8  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My new (well almost new) grape gloves! on: January 24, 2009 08:08:10 AM
I was desperate for a new pair of gloves for a trip to Switzerland in November so I came up with this creation:

This is what they look like after they've made a snowman and thrown a few snowballs too!

It is based on the following pattern with a few modifications like a ribbed cuff and of course purple stripes  Smiley :

9  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / My pink iPod Cosy! on: January 24, 2009 07:35:04 AM
I got a iPod Nano (now the old one) as a leaving present, I had the best work colleagues!!! So of course I had to knit something up to protect it from getting scratched.

So here it is, my own invention:

I knitted one with a flap and one without to see which one works best. I ended up putting my headphones in the one without the flap  Grin
10  KNITTING / Knitting: Completed Projects / Good old Saartje's Booties on: January 24, 2009 07:29:32 AM
Here's my latest pair of Saartje's Booties - this time in baby blue! I've just popped them into the post to Canada for my other half's cousin who has just had a baby boy Smiley
