21  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / "L" from Deathnote, anime cross stitch on: January 22, 2009 07:30:27 AM
I'm not really into anime but I loved the Deathnote series.  I got this pattern from LittleMoJo here http://littlemojo.110mb.com/bleachngedeathnote.htm  *EDIT* The link doesn't go there anymore.  Cry  If you find where littlemojo's site went, I would really like to know.

Completed work.  It took several months but I worked on other projects as well.

Here's an in progress picture. Its 97x80 stitches.

I wanted to display it right away even though I didn't have a decent frame.  So this is what its in for now.

Now I need to pick my next big project for 2009 and join the stitch along.  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=285603.0

23  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Cross stitched bird bookmark on: January 16, 2009 07:43:00 AM

I made this bookmark for a bird loving friend.  I got the bird patterns from birdcrossstitch.com and I drew in the pattern for the letters behind them.  To cover the threads in the back I stitched a felt cover over it.

24  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Plushie owl doorstop on: January 16, 2009 07:33:52 AM

Hi!  Well, I got tired of using a 2 liter pop to hold my bedroom door open so I made this little guy.  He's made with cotton fabric and the details are felt.  The bottome is weighted with dry beans and the top is stuffed with cotton filling.
25  CRAFTING FOR GOOD AND NOT EVIL / Crafty Charitable/Social Causes / Adopt-A-Pet Holiday Raffle 2008 on: October 06, 2008 08:44:01 AM
Hello Craftsters!

I volunteer with Adopt-A-Pet which is an all volunteer non-profit animal shelter/ adoption agency dedicated to saving the lives of homeless cats and dogs.  We don't get any government funds so all costs to run this program comes from generous supporters.

Our biggest fund raiser is our Holiday Raffle. This is where you come in!  Grin

Any crafts for pets or people that you can donate would be greatly appreciated!  If you are a business and can donate items, we can give you a tax receipt for your contributions.  We can use almost any type of merchandise, service or online gift certificate.

You can contact me to let me know what you are donating by October 24th.  That is when the tickets will be printed.  But I don't need to receive your items until February 21, 2009.

Thank you so much for your support. Kiss

For the animals,
RaeRaggs
26  Archive of Past Craftster Challenge Entries / CHALLENGE 27 ENTRIES / Old clarinet given new life on: May 04, 2008 07:54:32 AM
This is made from the clarinet I learned to play on.  Its a really old wooden one and now it doesn't make a sound, but I couldn't part with it.  The wood for the base was repurposed from an old desk.  Its painted black with silver edging.  The shade was given to me as a gift specifically for this project.  It uses night light sized bulbs.  This is by far my favorite project yet because of the sentimental value it holds.

27  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / "Love Me" and Skull pillow case on: March 24, 2008 06:35:49 PM
My friend drew this little guy and I really love it.  He also drew this "skull" so I made a set of pillow cases for him.  He hasn't gotten them in the mail yet but I hope he likes them.

28  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Jewelry box on: January 25, 2008 02:04:14 PM

I found a dirty brown jewelry box at the thrift store and thought it had potential. Wish I had before pics. I tore out the original dirty lining and put some polka dot felt in. After sanding and giving it a fresh coat of white paint, I decoupage flower pictures from a magazine to the sides and top. Now I don't have to keep my jewelry in a plastic baggie.  Smiley
29  HOME SWEET HOME / Pet-Related Crafts: Completed Projects / cat toys-$1 to make on: January 25, 2008 12:49:48 PM
These are cheap and easy and are actually outlasting the store bought ones. I cut a dowel rod so it was 2 feet long, drilled a hole in one end and tied a nylon string through it. I used embroidery thread to tie on feathers and a bell, using a fly fishing method I think, so its nice and tight. I added a drop of hot glue in the middle of the feathers too. I just painted them to make them look more fun.

30  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Bird Wall Art on: January 07, 2008 09:02:18 AM
This is a mixed media poster.  I was inspired by something I saw in a store ad but I dont remember where.  Its paint, paper, and ink on poster board.  The frame is handmade from wall trim and painted white.

Here is a close up of the metalic paper used on the bird as well as the ink design.
