I'm so excited to receive my first ATC in this swap!

52  Green vintage bike painting in More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works by RaeRaggs on: July 27, 2011 11:02:12 AM

I found an image online I liked and painted it.  I usually stick to realism and this was slightly abstract, with parts missing and messy lines, so it was a little difficult to paint outside the lines.  I'm thinking I might write personal stories about my bike experiences in yellow, really small, so from a distance it just looks like the background color but up close you can read it. The canvas is 18"x24".  If I find the original I'll link it be no luck yet.

53  Re: Boycott the craft store Destash Swap Gallery! in ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED by RaeRaggs on: July 21, 2011 11:37:41 AM
I sent today Smiley   (will msg the # after i find it  Embarrassed) - had to rearrange things to get it shipped as flat rate- was too chubby at first. now the anxious waiting of approval Tongue

Approval granted!!

I'm amazed how much was stuffed in that box!  So much great stuff.  Let's see there was a ton of cute polka dot paper and a pound of smaller papers for scrapbooking, as well as some nice embellishments like die-cuts, feathers, ribbons and brads.  She included a cute little matchbook memories scrapbook and cupcake stamps.

She sent some cooking supplies including some Starbucks mocha powder, which sounds absolutely decadent, a skein of soft satin yarn, some wooden appliques, a small notebook, a fun Da Vinci kit with booklets and projects, a humorous greeting card and a book of painting techniques for around the home.

Thanks for a great package Petskin!

I received a small box from Crafty Gurl today.

Included were two skeins of pretty mohair yarn, crochet hooks, a yarn needle,a frog and a bird paper punches, glue stick and charms that say "handmade with love".  I look forward to putting one of those on something I crochet with my new supplies.  Smiley  Thanks Crafty Gurl.

55  Henry the Hedgehot in Felting: Completed Projects by RaeRaggs on: July 15, 2011 12:54:14 PM
I wanted to give needle felting a shot so I picked an Amy Thomas Design kit.  All the supplies and instructions were included which was good because I had no idea how you people turned fuzz into creatures.  So here he is.  I think he turned out even cuter than the picture on the instructions, if I do say so myself. He has a few wonky bumps on his body, but don't we all?  Wink

56  F Cancer cross stitch shadow box in Needlework: Completed Projects by RaeRaggs on: March 18, 2009 08:59:42 AM

I recently finished this for a friend whose mom passed away from breast cancer.  F Cancer is cross stitched and then I added trinkets belonging his late mother to the shadow box. The arrangement needs work but I could tell by the tears that he liked it.

57  Victorious bunny on deer emboridery, Luke Chueh in Needlework: Completed Projects by RaeRaggs on: March 18, 2009 08:48:17 AM
I really liked this painting by Luke Chueh as seen here...

So cute yet sadistic.  Its embroidered on a tea towel.  I tried the Prismacolor technique but it washed out.

59  Re: Big Project Stitchalong 2009 in Needlework: Stitchalongs by RaeRaggs on: February 05, 2009 06:59:16 AM
I'm so excited I got my patterns in the mail!  Now I just have to go buy the embroidery floss; all 78 colors!!  I'm slightly intimidated now.  Here's a pic of what I'm attempting....

And the other that will follow next year hopefully...

Or vice versa. I haven't decided yet.

60  "L" from Deathnote, anime cross stitch in Needlework: Completed Projects by RaeRaggs on: January 22, 2009 07:30:27 AM
I'm not really into anime but I loved the Deathnote series.  I got this pattern from LittleMoJo here http://littlemojo.110mb.com/bleachngedeathnote.htm  *EDIT* The link doesn't go there anymore.  Cry  If you find where littlemojo's site went, I would really like to know.

Completed work.  It took several months but I worked on other projects as well.

Here's an in progress picture. Its 97x80 stitches.

I wanted to display it right away even though I didn't have a decent frame.  So this is what its in for now.

Now I need to pick my next big project for 2009 and join the stitch along.  http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=285603.0
