1  Green ceramic bowl with "crazy clear" in Pottery, Ceramics, etc: Completed Projects by RaeRaggs on: February 05, 2014 09:41:03 AM
I wanted to share this wheel thrown bowl with you because I think its the most beautiful piece I've made yet.  There is a glaze in the lab that we call "crazy clear".  It's just supposed to be clear but the company screwed up the mix, so it does crazy stuff.  Some cool stuff, like mixing colors crazy ways; as seen below.  This bowl was dipped in green and then in the inside I spooned in some crazy clear.  It sure makes interesting and beautiful results.

Hi all!  I love the projects you've posted.  Your constant progress is a good motivation for me.  I've been doing the challenge on my blog and I'm at 32/50 projects. I've done a lot of pottery, some drawing, some recipes, some fiber art, etc.  Check it out if you want.  http://raeraggs.blogspot.com/2013/05/my-little-pinch-pot.html

Fretty is home from his extensive travels. As indicated on the half covered map in the photo, he traveled with HalogenSpock to all 4 corners of the country! Apparently he's a Texas Ranger now with a badge and everything. He brought a pinecone from a Redwood tree, a smooshed penny for my collection, some novel cactus candy, and an ocarina. That dinosaur is a planter for a succulent, which I can't wait to fill, and the box the dino is on is a lamp that HalogenSpock made.  The white part is where it illuminates from and makes the quote easy to see; unfortunately just not easier to see in a photo, so I had to keep the light off. He also sent a ton more quotes so they can be switched out.  How cool is that!  Thanks pardner.

Jay got the VIP treatment at the Chicago House of Blues.  My boyfriend is friends with Tyler Duncan who is on tour with Darren Criss (from the tv show Glee).  So Jay got an all access past, to watch the show from backstage, hang out in the dressing room and then chill on the tour bus.

On the tour bus, Darren thought he might out run the flash.

Jay and I traveled from Chicago to the Minnesota north woods, near Bemidji.  While we were getting wood for the campfire we came across this little guy.  He was none to pleased about being disturbed during the day light hours, but little did he know of the scorching that we saved him from.

We made him a little lean to so he would be out of the sun but he eventually flew into the trees.

Took Jay to the roof at work to check out the Chicago cityscape.  It was a pretty hazey day so it wasn't the best photo op.  That's the Willis Tower (Formerly the Sears Tower) right above Jay's head.

I brought Jay to work with me.  Looks like he's going to do some riding. Here he's getting a hand up onto a horse; which appears a little freaked out by the bright red, tater tot hunamoid.  Hold on tight!

10  Colorful tree painting in CHALLENGE 86 ENTRIES by RaeRaggs on: May 08, 2013 08:03:25 AM

I painted this for Random Swap 3.  Its acrylic on 12"x24" canvas.  Feeorin had a tree picture on her pinterest that I loved and had to try painting.  The hardest part was the background transition in each section from dark to light.  Blending acrylics isn't easy and I'm pretty proud of how it turned out.
