I finally finished this baby bib for my girl Darcy!  All patterns are from the new book, and the bib came from Sublime Stitching. 



It's really too big for her right now, but I don't think I'm actually going to use it when it does fit.  It's too cute to get stains on it!  So I'll be packing it away as a keepsake. 

P.S.  Sorry for the crappy shot, but trying to get an 11 week old baby to sit still for a photo shoot is a little challenging.

A few months ago, I scored 12 vintage linen napkins from an estate sale for only $3.00.  Just perfect for embroidery projects! 

I decided to do a dessert set, using patterns from the newest book.  YUMMY!




I added the swirls for more flavor.





Who else has a sweet tooth?

Well, I've been out of commission for a while, due to recently giving birth to my first baby!  But a couple of weeks ago, I managed to stitch up one of the blank banners I purchased from Sublime Stitching.  Yay for sales! 

I decided to use the Unicorn Believer patterns, as well as a star border from Jenny's newest book and the hearts are from the Chi-Chi Fever patterns.



I thought it was a cute idea to put her birthday in the clouds.

My husband had been asking me to embroider the Lucha Libre patterns on a shirt for him.  I finished this last month, but I'm just getting around to posting.

I would have liked to add more detailing on the masks, but was rushed for time due to the holidays.  Perhaps I'll pick it up again for more embellishment.   

Last night I finished a couple of kitchen towels using the "Sushi Bar" patterns.  Overall I like the way they turned out.  It's just a bummer that the photo doesn't reflect the true colors.  Especially on the light green towel.  Perhaps I'll attempt taking more pictures in better light, but for now this gets the point across. 



Personally, I only eat veggie sushi, but I know a lot of other peeps like the fishy kind.  But I do love the patterns!  I got fancy and did the rice in french knots & added some detailing to the hands in seed stitch.

So, I was just thinking, how cool would it be to ring in a new year with the beautiful art/stitching of Jenny Hart to make your day brighter every day of the year?  Not like you don't already have enough ideas & projects to keep your head spinning, Jenny!   

I just thought this would be a pretty good seller.  I mean, I would buy one or two or more!

Concept:  One of your portraits featured every month.  Ring in the new year with Iggy Pop, Celebrate Easter with Dolly Parton, get spooky in October with Bill Hicks, Spend the winter holidays with The White Stripes! 

Since your new book is coming out in the fall, you wouldn't have to come up with new patterns!  People could just showcase your work every month. 

Oh yeah!

I thought I would post a picture of a tote bag I made for a craft swap I'm participating in.  It's the "Animal Lovers" swap & November was pet month.  My partner loves cats & she's a knitter, so I made her a new knitting bag.

Hi there! 

I wanted to share one of the pumpkins I carved the other night.  I decided to use the sugar skull from the Dia de los Muertos patterns.  I just drew a copy, as not to ruin my iron-on & to get a larger image. 

This was my first attempt at the "etching" technique I've seen used on lots of pumpkins.  I think it turned out alright.

I bought a plain black hoodie last week for my stepdaughter, with the intention of embroidering the cherries from the "Tattoo" collection on it.  I was working in satin stitch & thought to myself, 'This needs some sparkle to it.'  So I grabbed my container of sequins and went to town! 

This is the end result:



I really like how it turned out and it only took about an hour of total stitching time.
