Thanks, Jess!

Yes, I saw her wearing it this past weekend.  She looked super cool.  I'll try to get a picture of her modeling it, and post it in the customer gallery.   Wink
3  NEEDLEWORK / Sublime Stitching Embroidery / Heart and Dagger Hoodie on: January 05, 2009 03:04:51 PM
My friend Susan asked me to embroider a hoodie she purchased for her niece's Christmas gift, and I was happy to help!

Honestly, this project took a little bit longer than I had anticipated. I think it was because I had such a small area to work in, since it was on the sleeve. Also, since this was on colored material, I decided to fill in the design, which is not something I normally do. The dagger is worked in satin stitch, and the heart is worked in split stitch, and it is all outlined with a black back stitch. I'd say it took about 5 to 6 hours.

In the end though, the extra time was worth it, because the colors really pop on the green fabric, and her niece loves it! I saw her over the weekend, wearing the jacket and she looked super cool.

Feeling inspired? These designs were selected from the Tattoo Your Towels patterns.

Thanks, everyone!  I'm glad you like it.  I was thinking of Dolly Parton when I was stitching, but I was afraid that the metallic thread may have made her look more like Anna Nicole.   Cheesy

Wow!  Shocked  This is totally awesome!  Great work!  I love the pink on the girl and the guns.  Did you just sew on that rick-rack, also?

I totally took the easy road on the rick-rack and used Liquid Stitch.  (Fabric glue!)   Wink

Hi there!

I wanted to share my latest project with you.  I embroidered a half apron from Sublime Stitching and used the Country Cool patterns.

The metallic floss is "Poppin' Pink" from the Metallic Pallette, also available through Sublime Stitching.

Hope you like it!

I love that you made the stag a red nosed reindeer!  Very smart and very seasonal!  You should submit this project to the Sublime Stitching customer gallery too!  http://www.sublimestitching.com/gallery  It's too cute not to.   Wink

I must be seeing things too, because I also remember seeing them on the SS site. I definitely didn't link off to the bands site.  OR maybe I just remembering seeing the finished projects posted in this forum or the 'completed projects' forum?Huh  A mystery.

Possibly you saw the kit in one of the Sublime Stitching newsletters?  I remember having to order it through The Decemberists' website, and the patterns are very well done and detailed.  Carson Ellis is amazing.   Smiley

How exciting to have them offered through the Sublime Stitching website without the Le Petite embroidery kit!  It would be doubly exciting if Carson were the 4th in the artist series, with a couple of smaller designs added to the sheet.
