2  Couch blanket in Crochet: Completed Projects by mamafen on: September 25, 2010 07:55:16 PM
I made this for a friend of mine that is pregnant.  Its for her, not the baby haha.

It's big enough for cuddling up on the couch and took me 3 months because I kept putting it aside and ignoring its existence, but now its finished, so YAY!

3  I made a hat! in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by mamafen on: July 22, 2009 10:37:10 PM
I wasn't sure where else to post this, so here it sits.

So I've been searching my butt off the last few months trying to find a vintage or vintage style hat that would look decent on me without spending a gajillion dollars.  Finally after getting annoyed at the internet, i decided to just make one.  Hancock Fabrics was having one of their awesome pattern sales, and I found this pattern for hats and matching bags (McCalls M5867) It's a Laura Ashley Design, and not only is  the hat INCREDIBLY adorable, but so easy to make that it only took me an hour from cutting out the pattern to wearing it!

I have a little bitty vintage doily that I found in my stash that I pinned to the hat in the pictures because I haven't quite figured out where to place it yet, so any help with that would be awesome.

Anyway, enough words, on to pictures! (please excuse the stray threads that I haven't clipped...I clipped them off this morning, I was just so excited Cheesy)

There's more info on the hat on my blog thing http://buttonsandbrimstone.blogspot.com/2009/07/crafty-craftin.html

4  Embroidered Painting in Needlework: Completed Projects by mamafen on: September 30, 2008 10:04:56 PM
I was inspired by all the crayon tinting I've seen recently, and since I've been on a painting kick latley too, I felt the need to incorporate the two.  So, I found the cutest squirrel EVAR on the internet a few months ago ( I can't remeber where, I have a folder of embroidery patterns on my computer) and since it's fall, I thought it was the perfect piece to try this on.

I painted this with Gouache on Bristol board and then embroidered the linework and details.  It's harder to embroider paper than you'd think, so I had to pre poke holes in order to even accomplish what I wanted it too (Which by the way, was the demise of my lazy daisy stitches *sniffle*)
Anyway, enough talky talky, on to pictures!

Also, i'll post more information on my blog tomorrow afternoon.

This isn't the best picture depicting the real colors, but it shows the stitching

The colors are way closer to this, and here it's in it's framed glory.
Thanks for looking!

5  Paint+Bass=Happy husband (two tons of photos!) in Completed Projects by mamafen on: September 11, 2008 11:57:08 PM
*yawn*
So, my husband saw a guitar posted on here that someone had painted and a light bulb went off in his head.  A few days later I found him, dremel in hand, mumbling to himself about how "badass" this was going to be.
Next thing I knew I was painting on a bass guitar.
I finally finished, and i'm tired.
I like it a bunch, pretty happy with it.
Plus, I got to do some tattooey stuff which is nice since I'm on hiatus from tattooing right now.

Woohoo bass! ( also, it's new name is Cletus)
Also, I know most of these photos are sideways, but It's 2 am and I'm realllly tired.  So I'll fix them tomorrow.

( the happy husband!)

Andd....goodnight!

7  School Dress in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by mamafen on: August 24, 2008 08:27:43 PM
YAY!  I made this dress today for my first day of college tomorrow.
It's my first time making a dress without a pattern, so although I know there's some mess ups in it, I'm still pretty proud of it.

My camera decided that it hated me so most of the pictures suck. The first picture is an accurate depiction of color.

Anyway,

PICTURES!

(excuse the dity kitchen)

I swear my straps aren't that crooked ( theyre really only a tad crooked, my hubbyt snapped the picture as I was adjusting my boobs and straps)

anndd....TWIRLING!

Hooray!

..edited because I can't spell..ha!

8  My first messenger bag! in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by mamafen on: August 16, 2008 01:42:21 AM
I'm going back to school this fall after 6 years of being out of high school, I decided that since my major is art, that it wouldn't make too much sense to be an art student and not make my own bag.
So, I searched far and wide (not really) on here and found this tut: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=182863.0
I messed up my measurements on the flap so I added the buttons on either side to make sure it stayed closed and I think it ended up adding that extra little bit it needed, so I dig them.
This thing holds a LOt of stuff, there's 9 old reader's digest books in there!
anyway, enough blabbing, on to pictures!
(excuse the disarray that is my table.)

There's some messups on it, but ah well.  I figure it'll hold up for a while and if not, I do have a sewing machine Wink

9  Craft/record room in Interior Decorating: Completed Projects by mamafen on: August 04, 2008 12:56:45 PM
This took me FOREVER!
WE just moved into this house and I spent the last week getting this room painted and set up. it took 5 days to paint as I decided that I just HAD to handpaint daises all around the room ( I still have to outline some of them with silver paint marker but I decided it can wait) and I still have to organize my crafting stuff, it took two days to organize my records only to find that I forgot about the 3 boxes of them in the living room *ugh*
ANYWAY, I love my room, it makes me happy.
The first picture is the most accurate with the paint colors.

Also, I didn't take pictures of the other two walls because 1. I haven't hung anything up yet on them 2. because one has boxes all up against it.

YaY! Now I can work on my swap project
