11  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Last shrinky dink post for the day ...okay , probably a few days :-) on: November 17, 2007 11:39:27 PM
okay all..this is the last shrinky dink post for the weekend , and more than likely the beginning of the week as well :-)

i have  received several PM's about hand-handstamping on dink  and how exactly it works.

I stamp before I shrink... then cut the shape , punch the whole , and then shrink . I was also asked if the stamp can be seen from both sides , and the answer is absolutely , You can choose to hang your dinky charm with either side  facing front ; either the stamped surface or the reverse ( which makes it look as if its under  a slightly cloudy glass.) Again , once you shrink be sure to seal with a  spray enamel ...or the stamp will wear off. You can also seal with clear nail polish , although it can look streaky from the brush strokes. Spray enamel makes for an even look :-)

12  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Beads: Completed Projects / yay for making it up as you go along! on: November 17, 2007 08:16:09 AM
I loved the  nautral cut and color of these olivine nuggets , but couldn't find bead cap or accent bead that seemed fitting ....so I went from the gut and sort of organically wrapped the top, making a "nested" effect .  Sometimes simplicity is just best , I guess :-) Dontcha just love when your brain surprises even you ??

Thanks for looking :-)

The best part about shrinky dink ? it can be kitschy or classy ! I love doing hand stamping on frosted ruff-n-ready for an etched glass effect ...and then straight up inkjet dink is great for soooooooo much! I've kind have been on a dinky kick lately! here are some of the pretties !
