1  KNITTING / Knitting: Discussion and Questions / Re: baby patterns for beginners on: November 22, 2007 08:18:21 PM
Happy Thanksgiving everyone!

Just wondering if anyone has made a Diaper Genie Cover and if it is easy enough for a beginner (read: sewing for dummies). And does anyone have a sewing for dummies tutorial on it?

Thanks!
Heather

 Cry

I know this is an old thread, but what happened to the pics.  I think this is the type of diaper bag I want to make, but cannot tell.  Plus, I am sew-challenged it isn't funny.  I need someone to "'splain" it to me... I need more pictures.

Thanks,
Heather

P.S. I'm looking for this sort of bag...

I want it to stand up on it's own.  I have fabric I'd like to use, but need instruction.  THANKS SO MUCH!

OMG that is so adorable! Does that work with a car seat too? My son is only 2 mo old and is almost 20 pounds - I am so glad I didn't buy a carrier/car seat.

I bought him a "pram" that has feet... it's very heavy and I wonder if he will get too hot... but it's been washed and will have to be used this weekend.  Needed it QUICK for a trip I wasn't sure we were in fact going on.  My husband isn't a planner - I plan everything. GRRR! Grin

Thanks!
Heather

Great tutorial.  I wish I had found this before I bought one on eBay.  A couple of tips... an Xacto knife is my best friend. Smiley Also, I use craft glue instead of hot glue.  I also pad both the top and bottom.  It still sits well with padding on the bottom. I love making these as I haven't learned how to sew yet.  I love crafting, but this is probably the first ever project I have completed. They usually get put aside and forgotten about.
