1  Re: Christmas Stocking Swap Round 9 Gallery in The Swap Gallery by GrannysAnnie on: February 10, 2014 05:57:21 PM
Soooo, I definitely made a post almost two months ago, and I either clicked "preview" instead of "post" or it didn't take for some reason.  I was looking at old galleries, and I realized my pics aren't in this one! What happened?!! I feel like the worst swap partner ever!!!   Embarrassed

Well, I re-took pics (got a new phone, so the old ones are goners).

Pickseedust made me the most amazing things.  She is an absolute sewing GENIUS.
A BEAUTIFUL stocking with applique greatness!

This one absolutely BLEW MY MIND.  It's an advent calendar.  Just look at the detail!!!

A bowtie clutch (subtle nod to my love of Dr. Who  Wink )

Another gorgeous piece of appliqued (I think?) fabric.  I'm using this as wall art for Christmas.

Christmas countdown blocks  Smiley

My FAVORITE part of the package - a rustic nativity set.  I love nativity sets, and this one is just so cute and perfect!

A pincushion and bonus TARDIS keyring!

Blackboard gift tags (genius!)  and some extras.  The ear is because I'm an audiologist  Wink

She also included some Minnie Mouse goodies for my niece AND a sewn belt for her (black with tiny white hearts).  My sister has been looking for a Velcro belt for AGES, so this was perfect.  Unfortunately, those items are being enjoyed by my niece, so I can't take pics of them.

THANK YOU SO SO MUCH, PICKSEEDUST!!!!  I'm so sorry my post got lost in the black hole of the interwebs.  I really do love absolutely everything!

Sorry for the late posting - it's been crazy around here!

I received from Princesspimp81, and the contents were a wonderful surprise  Cheesy
Here's the lot:

Glittery pumpkin bucket, crocheted container, hair clips, glow mask, black cat hole punch, pumpkin socks, Halloween fleece fabric, Charleston chew, caramel covered marshmallows, pumpkin pretzels (those were GOOD), candy corn taffy, and Evil Queen apple jelly beans (reference to my Snow White costume for this Halloween!).

Close-up of the crocheted container:

I LOVE the spider web with the little candy corn spiders!

Inside of the container:

More candy corn spiders inside!

THANK YOU, PRINCESSPIMP81!!!

So... I did this backwards  Undecided
I opened Day 1 on day 1 instead of opening Day 13 on day 1.  Whoops.  I'm going to post the pictures in order anyway though.  Sorry!

Day 13
The most AWESOME set of cards counting down the days to Halloween! I think I'm going to put them in pouches to make a Halloween "Advent" Calendar  Smiley

Close-ups

Day 12
Skelly garland!

Day 11
Ghost soap  Smiley

Day 10
Handmade blank cards with two-tone envelopes.

I love the different designs!

Day 9
Classic Wizard of Oz prints.  I can't adequately describe my obsession with the Wizard of Oz... I think these will have to be framed  Grin

Day 8
BUNTING!!! Just like I wisted!  The colors are perfect, and guess what? It's LEATHER WORK!!! I've never had anything leather worked before  Cheesy  Brilliant!

Day 7
Bracelets! In bright colors!

Day 6
Puzzle piece magnets! With spideys Smiley

Day 5
Another leather-work item - bracelet! It's kind of hard to see, but the butterflies have a red tone to them.  It's very pretty.

Day 4
CUTE witch cards!

Day 3
Spooky Love.  I love this. No pun intended  Wink

Day 2
Awesome wrapped heart necklace.  This will go perfectly with my Halloween shirts!

Day 1
A Nightmare Before Christmas coffee table book! I LOVE the paper patterns and creative cut-outs.

Everything's awesome! Thanks for the great swap, gala_apples!

I received from Alchamy today!
I LOVE LOVE LOVE everything!!!

First up, my favorite, River Song's diary Smiley

Then a SILENT figurine.  The camera doesn't capture quite how cool it is.  Alchamy said it's from her husband's 3D printer - how awesome is that?!! LOVE it!

Then a trike from one of my favorite episodes: Dinosaurs on a Spaceship.  It also happens to be from my favorite scene.  I love Brian's game of fetch to get the trike to run Tongue

And last, but not least, an EPIC bow tie pillow for my doctor! Gotta love Eleven.

THANK YOU SO MUCH, ALCHAMY!!!

5  Re: Poppet vs Amigurumi Swap Gallery in The Swap Gallery by GrannysAnnie on: August 13, 2013 09:14:17 AM
Finally I'm back!!!

I got home after 32 hours of flights and airports on Thursday night and woke up Friday morning with a fever - ugh.  I was sick until yesterday, and now I'm finally able to post pictures of the awesome poppety goodness Bobbysgirl sent me!  I was so tired and miserable when I got home that I almost cried with happiness when I opened my swap package. I was blown away!

Here's my lovely White Queen poppet from Alice in Wonderland

And her adorable White Rabbit cupcake

I LOVE the details on both of them!  I don't know what you were worried about, Bobbysgirl - your poppetting (sp?) skills and clothes-making skills are excellent!  I've wanted my own poppet for so long, and these are the PERFECT ones for me!
THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU!!!!

P.S. Action shot!!!

10  large mens' shirts in What the heck can I do with THIS? by GrannysAnnie on: May 27, 2013 04:24:09 PM
Hi all!

I got three size large mens' shirts for $1 each at Walmart because I thought the fabric was super awesome.  Any idea on what I could make if I take the shirts apart?  I was thinking some sort of clothing item for me (approx. ladies size 10-12), but I'm not sure what.  They had more shirts that I could go back and buy if I need more fabric.

Any help would be appreciated!!!

Thanks!!!
