Wow, she looks awesome! I love all the little extra details you added, like the flowers and the texturing on the bottom of her skirt. Awesome job. ^_^

Sorry for my tardiness with this last picture!

I received this AWESOME cats ATC from Mountains and Clouds! I really love your drawing and watercolor style a lot. I also like the way you drew the cat - the framing of the picture makes it look like it's all up in your face, like when kitties like to wake you up in the morning. ^_^

She also threw in a super cute extra card. Thank you!!! I love them both. Smiley
3  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Re: Hand Stitched Cute & Nerdy "Merit Badges" on: September 08, 2014 07:28:53 AM
Yep, I did these all by hand, even the borders. It's kind of hard to tell because it's black but if you look closely on the D20, you can tell that's my first one because it's kind of messy (the Rarity one too). But I got better at it! It still takes forever though so I'm going to be experimenting soon with doing the borders with a sewing machine. If I can get it to look nice and neat with a machine then I'll probably switch.

Thanks for the kind words everyone. Smiley
4  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Hand Stitched Cute & Nerdy "Merit Badges" on: September 07, 2014 09:11:32 PM
I've always loved merit badges...I never actually earned any when I was in Girl Scouts (most of the requirements were way too long and involved for my 10-year-old self) but they always appealed to me because I like collecting cute little things. Why I like ATCs so much, I guess. ^_^

I've been working really hard over the past couple of weeks making these! I'm doing all sorts of cute little pictures and icons, but of course I have a large focus on nerdy things.

Picture 1 (L-R): Mushroom, 20-sided die, Sailor Moon crescent, rainbow, bi pride flag, Rarity cutie mark
Picture 2 (L-R): Mario 1-up mushroom, Mario Super Star, Sailor Venus symbol, glasses, fried egg (yum!), Sailor Mars Symbol

I have lots more ideas (but I'm always welcoming more!) so I'm going to keep churning these out as much as I can until I have to apply for my local con's Artist Alley in January. Prepping for shows is hard work! I'm not sure how people do it. But I'm gonna work hard so I can finally live my dreams! Yeahhh!! ^_^

6  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Ongoing ATC Swap Discussion Thread for 2014! on: August 30, 2014 07:23:00 PM
I'm probably not going to be participating for September either, as I've finally got lots of momentum to work on some big projects I've been planning (setting up my etsy shop, and a new cosplay after taking a break from that for a long time), but I'll DEFINITELY be back in October. Who knows, maybe I'll pop in halfway through as well. xD I just tend to procrastinate/worry about my ideas for people's themes and I don't want to end up stressing out about it while I'm trying to figure out other stuff! But I definitely can't stay away for too long. I've had WAY too much fun building up my ATC collection already.

I'm so glad you both liked your cards! I've been having a lot of fun recently getting back into all sorts of artsy things I forgot I liked to do. Rediscovering painting was one of them! I'm not particularly good at it but it sure is fun to mix up some paint and brush it onto a page. ^__^

I received from cmarion3 today! My theme was feminism.

She sent me two cards because she said she got overenthusiastic. I hear ya on that one! I love them both! I had never heard the quote by Rebeca West before but thought it was pretty great. Also I love the colors and textures of the paper! Thank you so much!!! Cheesy

StudioANF, I'm so glad you like the coffee card! That's definitely the most out of the box I've ever gone with an ATC design, and I was really happy with how it turned out. ^_^ I admit the prices for coffee are pretty cheap...I based them on the prices at Caribou Coffee where I used to work but I made them a little cheaper because I always thought the prices were ridiculous, hehe.

Loving everyone else's cards! I like the texture on that TARDIS one and the lace on the victorian one especially. Cheesy

Also I received from mariak! The theme is coffee (man I love coffee)

Did I mention I love coffee? Well, I did, but so does this card. hehe. Also, I love this card! ;p

Money/crafting time is a little tight for me right now, I'd be interested in option b) or c)!

Received from sammylouise40 yesterday!

Very cool card! I love the colors. I also swoon over pretty much anything celtic-knot related. ^_^
