1  Re: Show off your hair! And questions about hair styles! in Bath and Beauty: Discussion and Questions by aeillill on: December 24, 2005 03:36:30 PM
This a a question. How do you get the puff on you crown (like jungrrls avatar)? I'm just wondering because I really want to know how to do that!! Thanks so much..

here's the link:
http://www.livejournal.com/community/wickedhothair/9594.html

i am growing out bettie page type bangs and they are at the lenght where i can do a pomp. what i do is put some pomp grease or gel in them and comb it back. then i put hair spray in and comb it into place where i want.make sure you do it while the hairspray is wet. sometimes i'll use gel and blowdry my bangs back with a round brush then use hairspray.

i hope this makes sense! i tend to babble when i'm sleep deprived!

This is an excellent tut I used it today and it worked wonderfully even though I have pretty long hair

Here's a pic of me rocking my awesome pomp, for some reason I can never take straight pictures of myself

2  Re: Amelia Earhart Aviator Cap in Knitting: Completed Projects by aeillill on: October 30, 2005 08:57:38 PM
Made mine last weekend on a long weekend trip to Massachusetts, overall i'm happy with it, but it's too big and I feel a bit like a little dutch girl in it, in the future if I make it again there's a few thngs I would do different

4  Re: Knitty's "Flora" Knitalong in Knitalongs by aeillill on: October 10, 2005 09:37:16 PM
Okay, well sorry for the double post here but I'M DONE!!!!!!!!!!!
and i'm even excited about this! (ignore my fat chin and neck)

Overall I liked the pattern and it was easy in the future I would either make the whole for the flower smaller because it kept slipping off of the button or I would just sew the flower down instead.  I just sort of tacked the flower down for now and it's good enough for me.  If I make this for xmas gifts I'll definately solve this problem more permanently

5  Re: Branching Out scarf knit-along in Knitalongs by aeillill on: September 06, 2005 04:54:29 PM
Just thought I'd add my scarf to the collection.  I made it for my mothers birthday in September, I think she'll like it

In real life it's a much brighter red, but this was the best picture I could get of the scarf.  There's a few screw ups, but nothing major, overall I'm happy with the way it came out.  I did actually learn a few things while knitting this: a) gauging is important despite what I've thought in my short knitting career, b) I knit wrong, oops!  Apparently i've been knitting through the back all along and when I tried to figure out the difference between k2tog and ssk I found this out.  I guess I'm glad I found this out before I made something major, but it's kinda sad I need to reteach myself  Cry

7  Re: 80's Cartoon Swap Gallery! in The Swap Gallery by aeillill on: June 08, 2005 07:10:51 PM
oh wow, it is weird seeing my handwritting up on here, lol.

Well, here's everything taped_on_wings sent me:

a my little pony hand tote

a fraggle rock wallet

an inside view

a super 80's colouring book

and some Jem magnets

Everything is sgooo, good, and I'm glad you liked all the radish things, I was afraid you weren't going to understand it and of course I forgot to include the little list I wrote up explaining everything....Also, all the colouring books and the cookbook wasn't meant to be handwritten, I hope you can look past that, my printer went a bit wonky after I printed out the colouring pages and I couldn't for the life of me figure out what was wrong with it, so I had to handwrite everything  Undecided

Danke!

9  Re: Abe Lincoln Pinata in Completed Projects by aeillill on: May 18, 2005 06:15:30 PM
One night i was telling a couple of friends about this abraham lincoln pinata i'd seen on here, and my one friend asked if you had to shoot him in the back of the head to get the candy out.  In honour of my friends birthday and that comment my other friend and I decided to make him this pinata

it is no where as good as yours, but we had a fun time with mr. abraham lincoln

10  i'm not a granny or a square, but this blanket is both in Crochet: Completed Projects by aeillill on: May 12, 2005 10:07:09 PM
but this is a granny square blanket, quite simple compared to all the other wonderful pretty things on craftster, but i still like it.  It's actually not a blanket either, more of a lapghan.  It's meant to be a house warming gift for my friend who's moving to Arizona sometime this summer.

nevermind how incredibly messy my bed is or that parts of my shades are missing.  I was in the middle of an epic battle with my digital camera so these aren't the best pictures, but they're not bad, they're pretty accurate colour wise.  There's also really cute stitching along the edge of the blanket I did with the pink in single crochet, you can sort of see it in the second picture
