1  MORE ART, LESS CRAFT / More Art, Less Craft: Completed Works / Macro Challenge - Maple syrup, the beginning on: May 01, 2008 02:22:17 PM
My family had been making maple syrup for as long as I can remember.  This is straight from the camera to your eyes without any editing.  Enjoy, I know I do!

2  NEWS AND DISCUSSION ABOUT CRAFTSTER / Introduce Yourself / How's she going? on: November 20, 2007 12:51:05 PM
Greetings to everyone out there on Craftster.  I've only recently (a week ago) found out about this site and join approx. 3 minutes afterwards.

I'm pretty eclectic I guess, and use art and crafts as side projects to try and keep myself out of trouble (this rarely works).

Professionally I'm finishing up a M.Sc. in Marine Biology, and I've been a lobster fisherman for the past 7 years.  I'm from small (small small small) town on the northeastern coast of New Brunswick, Canada

Under my crafter persona I'm really into making jewelry of all sorts.  I usually work with glass beads, enjoy beading necklaces that are a bit obvious (multi-stranded, large focal beads, etc), earrings of all sort, and the occasional bracelet.  I sell most of my stuff at a local country market, or to friends who get suckered into coming to visit my craft room.

I can sew, but have yet to tackle anything other than basic (I leave that complicated stuff to my Mom).  I also have a kiln that I think I am going to make more use of this winter while being an unemployed bum... ceramic pedants with funky glaze here I come Smiley

Alright, enough with the rambling!  Hello to everyone out there.
3  CANADA / Atlantic Canada / Craft Markets in North-Eastern NB on: November 20, 2007 08:16:17 AM
Hey, I know of a couple of farmers and/or craft markets going on around the Miramichi area.

Tabusintac, NB

- This is about a 30 min. drive north from the Miramichi city limits, about 25 mins south of Tracadie.  It's a scenic drive along the coast as well.  They serve a rotating breakfast menu, each week volunteers from various organizations raise money for community projects.  And there are obviously crafts to go along with the country market theme =)

Does anyone know of any others?  I have heard that there is one in Bathurst as well.

[P.S] If this is considered 'advertising' and I shouldn't have posted it, my apologies in advance.  I do not participate in all of these markets, I just wanted to get the word out about them, especially with the holiday's coming up.
