1  Tinkerbell and Peter Pan in Halloween Costumes by michellie on: November 05, 2008 05:33:27 PM
Allow me to introduce myself: Long time crafter, first time poster.
This year I decided to go out on a limb and make my own Halloween costume!
I've always wanted to be Tinkerbell, and when my boyfriend agreed to attempt a couples costume he had to be Peter Pan.
I got the fabric for my top and skirt at JoAnn Fabrics, and bought the parts for his costume at the Salvation Army. I purchased the wings, but sewed my costume on my machine. For his, we got a large green shirt and cut triangles out of the sleeves and bottom, green long underwear, and small brown shirt that I cut into strips and made a belt.
I used this pattern as a basis for my top: http://whatthecraft.com/tuts/cbust.htm, and I even added my first zipper on the back!
Since this is my first post, I can't add pictures so they're on Flickr. Thank you so much for looking! I had a lot of fun!

PS-I made the skirt a little too big, so I had to wear hotpants underneath, but I only had pink ones!
