I'm spending the summer in Moscow and I'm terribly terribly bored, so I spend my time crocheting. I have two little cousins here, one is named Sasha and is 7 years old and the other is Vera and is two and even though they are half sisters they have never met. Sasha wanted me to crochet her a pink kitten (she's very girly) and I found THIS http://diyods.blogspot.com/2006/08/finally.html great pattern and I think it came out pretty good. She seemed to like it so I decided to make the same one for Vera except in Grey and Pink and not Pink and Grey. Hopefully she'll like it too, I haven't given it to her yet.



Btw -> I hate sewing eyes. And limbs, I hate putting the bodies together. Haha but it was pretty fun anyways, and a rather fast pattern.

I used a modified version of THIS http://heavens-hellcat.livejournal.com/ pattern and I'm pretty happy with how it came out. I have more details and photos on my blog, but it was pretty fast and easy to make. I'd recommend the pattern to anyone.

I am DEFINITELY a beginner sewer. But practice makes perfect right?

Though as per usual I winged it when I didn't really understand the directions. Though god only knows why, they were pretty simple. I think it came out pretty good, even though I despise my grandmas sewing machine because I cannot control the speed on it whatsoever.

I was inspired by This http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=219931.0 Craftster post to make a Tea Wallet for my roommate Irene. I think it came out pretty well, and I had a lot more fun with it than with my previous sewing attempt mostly I think because I used my best friends sewing machine instead of mine. Hers OBEYS her. My lil bro got jealous of my socks so I made him some. They sort of look like smurf shoes though but at least he's not running around barefoot anymore with a sniffling nose. Now he's sliding half way across our living to his delight. Oh hardwood floors. So pretty but so dangerous. My friend D asked me to crochet him a bag for his bowl -> something I wasn't really keen to do, for a number of reasons. A) It would become smelly and gross, B) It's not like he'd be able to show it off, most likely it would be kept hidden for a fairly obvious reason, and C) I didn't really feel inspired by the project. But then when surfing Craftster and seeing a totally rad shirt embroidered with narwhals... inspiration struck. I'd make him a stuffed animal thats hollow inside! And then instead of stuffing it, i'll put in a bag. He's satisfied because he gets what he wanted, and I'm satisfied because I'm making a stuffed animal.  Thus Ned the Narwhal was born. I made the bag super padded (yay fleece) and removable so it can be washed, and I crocheted a little flap and attached a button on Neds butt that can be opened and where the opening to the bag is. I'm pretty happy with it, what do you think?

First off, props to all of you bag/purse/wallet makers. This was my first time sewing anything via machine and I found it pretty difficult. This is how it came out:





First of all I could barely control my grandma's old sewing machine, then I decided to remove an extra layer of fleece that I had between the pink fabrics (I was paranoid that the hook pocket stitches would show through somehow)... basically it was a nightmare. I think I learned a lot though. I had to wing it and improvise a lot, so it didn't come out exactly as I envisioned it... but what do you think? Sorry for the sloppiness, not a pro like you guys

Hopefully I wont get in trouble for this since its technically not crochet, but I made myself a crochet hook case. It was my first project using a sewing machine and so it didn't come out amazing but I'm still pretty happy with it. But who knew that sewing machines were so fast and angry?

... you are so impressed by my alliteration. Basically these were SUPER easy to make and now the pattern is up on my blog at www.crochetingcomra de.blogspot.com if you want it.



I made them using my left over yarn scraps from all the hats I've been making this year. I used Wool-Ease Thick and Quick yarn and a K hook. All in all it took me like 2 hours to make each slipper (after I gave up trying to figure out how to crochet the heel like you would a real sock and just did it turkish slipper style). Add another hour for weaving in the ends... ugh I HATE doing that. Well what do you think? They are SO warm.

Here is the Black Curacao Shawl I crocheted for my Grandma for Christmas. I think it came out great! Only took like a day and a half of non-stop crocheting .
