1  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / The Swap Gallery / Re: Hippy Swp Round 9 - gallery of gorgeousness! on: August 12, 2014 03:29:26 PM
Oh the purse took at least 15 to 20 hours to complete and was so beautiful I wanted to keep it so bad.  While it was just granny squares, the joins and border of the front and back panels had soooo many stitches.  The inside is lined with an upcycled shirt.  I once bought that shirt for a Janis Joplin costume at Halloween and was never able to fit into it comfortably (it was two sizes smaller than I was lol).  I knew it had a purpose so I held onto it for about two years.  This project was perfect.  The pattern can be found on ravelry too.  It's fortunately a free pattern so if you know how to crochet, you should check it out.  Was a long, but fun project.

And I'm super glad that you liked everything!

The only other thing in that box was a bag of home made granola-you can't get much more hippie than that! Cheesy

I'm sorry I forgot to post about the granola!  We totally ate all of it in about two days.  It was so good, we loved it so much!

I received from bookstorebabe about four days ago, and am just now getting around to posting pictures--sorry about that!  Bookstorebabe did a great job at sending items that were requested in the questionaire and even added an item inspired by my pinterest!  I'm very happy with everything, and am so glad that I participated in this swap again Smiley

Here's everything:  a warm and practical swirly scarf (sharpie and alcohol, which is a really neat technique that I've been wanting to try), recycled office supplies (scrap paper, a small desk organizer/holder, mini-notebooks with really interesting nature pictures on them, larger notebooks with a nature/tree theme), a cute purple vase (inspired by my pinterest) which is perfect for my office, a sun necklace, a moon necklace, a tree necklace, a framed beaded flower (made of mardi gras beads) and a super cute peace sign bookmark.  I am so happy with everything!  Thank you for going above and beyond and sending things that I love and will use!

The beautiful framed flower--look how neat this turned out!

Close up of the super perfect necklaces!!!

Notebook close ups--there is a design on both the front and back.  The other side is shown in the group photo of all the items.  I love these, and they will definitely get used.

Vase in action--and close up of vase detail!

Thank-you!!!!

I've put a huge dent in my large item today.  It's coming along very nicely.  I can't wait to get the main part completed so that I can add the extra detailing to make it special Smiley

I went thrift store shopping yesterday for cost-effective supplies for the swap.  I  found a purple _______ with the perfect ______ ____s on it that I can reuse/repurpose for a _______ that I'm wanting to make for my swap partner.  Spent $2 and ended up with $20 worth of ____s.  Saved some money, got a great quality craft supply to use for this swap AND had a great time going on the "treasure hunt."

Stalking! Glad I caved and signed up.  Cheesy

Me too!  Hi bookstorebabe!  I am very happy to be your partner, and your pinterest is already inspiring me!  I have a feeling that I am going to be making a lot of the same items for myself too--we have very similar tastes and I'm ready to make some hippie-goodies!  We even have the same favorite color Smiley

It feels good to be home.  I've sent in my questionnaire, and am excited to once again take part in this swap.  This is the only swap where I feel like I HAVE to participate because I always enjoy it, the conversations on the page are always so friendly and welcoming, and there isn't another greater source of inspiration to get colorfully creative than this swap.  Looking forward to participating and getting to know my new partner!  Hello everyone!

Holy cow, was I spoiled!  Everything is perfect and so well made.  I received:  embroidered coasters with Walking Dead characters on them (which are now gracing my coffee table but are way too pretty to use) three pieces of artwork which also have blood splatters on them...and are perfect, Walking Dead magnets, a Terminus baggie, and a Daryl Dixon wood burning.  I love Daryl!!!!  Here are the pics, and please ignore the very "loud" and bright scarf turned table cloth in the photo Smiley

Thank you so much!  Everything is so freaking amazing!
