So cute!  I want to start making our cakes rather than just buying them.  You have endless boundaries when you do it youself.

Stupid question but what does the fondant taste like?  Is it soft when you eat it?

So I have been racking my brain on what to make for my husband for Christmas this year and I have decided that I wanted to make him Dwight and Jim dolls from the American version of "The Office."  I was thinking that felt would be super easy to work with but I want to kind of keep them simple.  I'm a pretty good when it comes to sewing and figuring things out but the only fabrics I have really worked with are denim, cotton, fleece and a little bit of felt (not much).

So what would you suggest to use to construct these dolls and capture the essence of the characters but keep them simple?

Please and thank you!

I hate being a girl sometimes because I change my mind so often.  After thinking about the foam we just decided to not to mess with it and just went with some jean fabric and some quilt batting.

I'm really pleased how they turned out although I didn't get any pictures.   Sad

My MIL absolutely loved them and she promised to get me some pictures so I can post them.

Thanks for the answers.  We have decided to go with some denim.  What fabric would be good for covering the foam to water proof it?

Evening Ladies and Gents-

My MIL has decided that she wants me to make her a couple of kennel mats for 2 of her pups that will be attending obedience school in the next couple of weeks.

They are Aussie Shepherds, so I need some ideas on some fabrics that will keep them cool but last though washings and wear.

I'm thinking for the filling I'm going to use 2" foam to give a nice pad.

Anyone have any suggestions, please and thank you very much!

Those turned out so cute!  I've been in need for some inspiration myself.  I'm 14 weeks and I'm already wearing the maternity shirts that were passed to me, but I can't fit into either my maternity pants or my regular pants.  It's been frustrating.  I better get to work!  Great job!
