1  Re: THE GREAT SKULL SWAP in The Swap Gallery by rubenette on: February 04, 2008 11:09:16 PM
ok, here are pics of the stuff I sent chicken since she has no internet access right now, poor dear Sad

this is the large and the one I had the hardest time parting with, a painting.  The color is off in the picture, the purple looking splotches are actually a bright pink color....chicken likes pink/orange/yellow together:

some stuffies to hang on a baby mobile (don't have pictures of the mobile assembled, sorry)

a baby rattle:

a diaper bag i appliqued onto:

a onesie with a teddy bear skull:

and an incense burner and a little sticker:

I hope the baby isn't scared by any of the items, lol.  I tried to make them cute but still skully Smiley

I got my package and I am so excited!!!!  I just LOVE the items my partner came up with!  She figured me out to a T Smiley

The large item is a cool painted, velvet lined box:

Of course it had lots of goodies inside! Smiley

I am so so so so in love with this little guy.....he makes me squee with joy, hehe!  He has a ring on the back for hanging, I think I might wear him as a necklace or maybe a pin!

Then they are two adorable hand sewn magnets, the stitching is amazing, I am in awe of chicken's skill!

Finally some yummy mints and a skelly cutout Smiley

Thank you so much chicken44, I absolutely love it!!!!  Smiley  Your package should be going out Tuesday assuming no disaster strikes this weekend, lol.

3  xmas stocking for DH in Needlework: Completed Projects by rubenette on: December 01, 2007 03:54:51 PM
I was just married this year and this will be our first Christmas Smiley  My husband is from Germany where the customs are a little different.  Then again I don't know how many adults still have stockings that get filled by Santa, could just be my brother and I (we're 30 and 28 respectively) are goofy, lol.  In any case I didn't want my new hubby to miss out on the fun so I got a kit and hand sewed him a stocking Smiley

4  plus size reversible apron in Clothing for Curvaceous Craftsters: Completed Projects by rubenette on: December 01, 2007 03:29:53 PM
I always have a hard time finding aprons....not something they sell at big girl stores.  The standard ones either have too short of straps or are way too expensive.  Anyhow, I thought "how hard could it be to make an apron?  you've got sewing skills!"  Well then I found two fabrics I loved so I decided to make it reversible and it got a little complicated, lol.  Several pin pricks later, I came up with this:

5  big ragged workout bag in Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: General by rubenette on: December 01, 2007 03:14:01 PM
I needed a big bag capable of holding two pairs of clothes, a bathing suit, towel, water, etc. and a duffel bag just wasn't doing it.  I decided to make one myself.  I had seen a pattern for a ragged blanket some time back - I got the fabric but never quite got around to it.  I took the same concept and just sort of pieced this together.  It works very well Smiley
