Your journal is just wonderful.

I have the best memories of my, now grown, son sitting on a stool in the kitchen while I cooked dinner, reading to me; "lit tle bear, lit tle bear." If I close my eyes I can almost hear that sweet 4 year old voice.  Thanks for the memory.
22  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: What's your weird guilty pleasure? on: July 14, 2008 07:13:42 AM
I don't eat bacon anymore, but when I did, I loved toasted grape jelly and bacon sandwich. This concoction was courtesy of my wonderful ex-husband (now good friend). He also used to make a wonderful barbecue mustard roast. It was a top round roast piece completely slathered - 1/2 in thick -  in common yellow mustard. Oh my did it turn out great and not tasting a bit of mustard.
23  COOKING / Recipes and Cooking Tips / Re: Tonight I cooked dinner using the sun! (Super easy and cheap solar oven) on: July 14, 2008 07:03:22 AM
Here is a link to a super cheap and easy solar cooker to experiment with; aluminum foil and a box and some rocks and there you are. It looks to be pretty easy storage as well.

What incredible job you did and what a wonderful gift of love for your father. You are a truly special soul. The world needs more like you.

Oh, and I love the dresser and the armoire; I have the tall dresser that matches your set!
25  Craft Swaps / ARCHIVE OF SWAPS THAT ARE TOTALLY FINISHED / Re: Jewish Swap (Signups closed, send out July 14) on: July 07, 2008 08:29:45 AM
Almost done with the project Cheesy Only having to redo one piece of it and that should happen tonight.

quilted could use it in the hallway or the bath. And, if she is intending to make aliyah, she could take it apart for use later over there.

I can hardly wait to see what everyone has made.

I love being on this site - I don't know of any other place where I feel so accepted. I look at all the love and work that goes into all of the projects I see; beginner or professional, they are featured and celebrated for their talents.
Oops ... feeling a bit mushy today - Having one of those "I Love Being Alive" days  Grin

Does this happen to any of you? I have a myriad of ideas during the sign up phase and now that I have my partner nothing is just right thing to make.

The little voice in my head says:

"No, not that idea, no, not that one either, can't quite pull that one off, that wouldn't be right for her, need a blast furnace for that one ... etc, etc, etc"
