1  JEWELRY AND TRINKETS / Trinkets and Jewelry: Completed Projects: General / Re: 4 new wrapped bangles on: February 17, 2009 04:42:38 PM
I love them ! Do you just start out with an ordinary (what type?) of bangle and then start wrapping? How do you finish them off?

That is a wonderful idea - I need one of those for sure. I am forever missing my train cause I'm looking for my badge and bus pass. Very weird looking at the picture; the items could have been mine: same phone in the same color, same badge clip pully thingie, same badge color, with the same 1st letter for the company worked in the same logo colors.

4  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / Re: A gift for someone on: December 25, 2008 10:24:12 AM
You got it  Cheesy  It will be perfect for those cold, cold Buffalo winters. If you will PM me your address I will send it off to you tomorrow. I am so glad it can be used; how many girls can say "My Mom knitted me a hat from musk ox yarn"  lol.  Would you be willing to post a picture of the finished product?

6  FIBER ARTS / Spinning: Discussion and Questions / A gift for someone on: December 24, 2008 03:46:43 PM
Hi everyone!

I am in the process of sorting and purging; a little early for the new year, but it feels good. During this process, I came across a gift that I would like to regift as it holds some not so good memories for me. I thought someone in the fiber arts department might like a bit of quiviet. It is a cowl type scarf that would have to be frogged, but since it is in pretty decent shape I thought someone might like to have it. It has a couple of moth holes ... sorry. I will send it off to the first one in line; consider it a Hanukkah present :-)

Wow, you did a great job on the plaid - I am totally impressed.

Thanks cmouse01 for loking at the pattern i found and telling me about it and urs!  Grin i REALLY wanna make a blanket like this! maybe i will do it next year sometime.. i might work out a baby/child size one first try out some colours and get the method down before commiting to a huge one! and the way my friends are at the mo, there'll be more babies next yr definitely (seems theres around 2-3 per yr atm)!! hahah!

A note about making this for a baby: NOT RECOMMENDED - my 'sister of the heart' made one for my daughter when she was a baby. One afternoon I put my darling daughter down for a nap and went in later to check on her; she had somehow pulled one of the woven chains far enough out to get it wrapped round her neck. She was peacefully sleeping, no harm done, but it sure scared me. I never let her sleep with that blankie again.
8  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: General / Re: My Red Prom Dress aka The Faviana Prom Dress Wannabe on: December 24, 2008 09:40:32 AM
Really nice job on the dress; it looks great. And you say it's only your second clothing project? Well done!

(Me getting on soapbox) Oh and as far as a picture making you look fat ... HA, don't even go there. Women spend far to much time criticizing themselves and pointing out their supposed imperfections and not enough time appreciating just how marvelously talented and beautiful they are. You are fabulous - take the glory!
9  QUILTING / Quilting: Completed Projects / Re: Oy Vey! Say it with...Pillows? on: September 27, 2008 04:12:45 PM
It think it is great; so clever and it made me smile!  I could use one of those right about now - I am right there with your friend's mother.
