This was seriously fun to do! I am getting my feet wet before tackling larger cross-stitch. Little wonky on the assembly - but nothin' a good angle on the photo won't cure Thanks for looking..and thanks to Flossbox for all the free patterns!
Hello! I took Merwing's scrapbook cover pile of flesh from her book - Doodle Stitching and made it a notebook cover instead - It's my joy journal - how can you not smile when you look at it! Thanks for looking! I made a pencil holder on the inside -
Well, I had just posted my first embroidery work and I just have to share my sister's work - Her only craft is cross-stitch and I have many of her works. Oooh - there's another one I have to share cause it's so cool. Well anyway - I think I am saying this right...She did converted my portrait with some cross-stitch software, did this on linen, 48 count...anyway, it's ghoulish. She's not on craftster (something I am gonna fix when I go to visit over xmas.) Can you guys give the eat so I can surprise her and pop on the site in at Christmas?
Update 12/16/07 - THANKS TO EVERYONE for their wonderful comments. I am so happy to get my sister the props she deserves! She is NOW on craftster as lorbval. She replied with this info: (page 3 of the replies) Hi there! Thanks for all the compliments!! I decided I wanted to give my sis an heirloom she could pass down to her great great great grandkids.. and who knows maybe in a hundred years it may be worth some bucks! I used a software program called pile of flesh maker. (Of course it's obsolete now as I did this 5-6 computers ago!) I'm sure they sell updated programs that do the same thing now. All I did was scan the picture and it converted it into the pile of flesh. (I think it was 27 pages of symbols) I believe it is 22 stitches per inch. (I definitely like a challenge..) I took me 7 months to complete and I gave it to her for Christmas. I believe I told her at the time after 7 months I was sick of looking at her cleavage!! LOL! It's a fairly large picture I think 2 ft by a foot and half or so. If I remember correctly I think it had over 700,000 stitches. I also affixed her wedding invitation to the back of the frame so there is a story with it. Thank you all for the warm and fuzzies this morning! Here is a fabulous site I found www.123stitch.com for all you stitchers out there.. I really like the Lavender and Lace and Mystic Stitch patterns. I gravitate towards pics that a bit more challenging. My husband gets frustrated with me sometimes as I have to ask him "What just happened on t.v.?" Who wants to just sit and watch t.v. anyway? Gives me something to do! Have a wonderful day all~
These are for the 2nd Annual Holiday Ornament unicorn zombie apocalypse. Thanks to Craftster and having the Sublime Stitching link, I am now HOOKED!! Thanks for looking! I wondered how to clearly photograph, so I threw some white satiny fabric on my sewing table. I am also silly with photoshop...I spent alot of time on these puppies!
