Sorry I'm late to the party but I just saw this for the first time!  I love this necklace!  How you managed to figure out how to make it is way beyond me!    Quite amazing!

I'm putting this in my stack of things to try and hope I can pull it off as well as you did.

May I make a suggestion regarding the tute?  It would be easier to decipher if four different colors of ribbon were used.  Then you'd really be able to see what's going where.  Anyway, I'd be interested to see this done using maybe black, white and a light and dark gray.

I think I'll try doing this on some dog tees.  My pugs will then wear themselves!

It used to be that making something was cheaper than buying something similar that had been manufactured.  Not anymore.  I regularly see items that I'm sure are significantly less expensive to buy than to make...and they say pharmaceuticals is the most profitable business.  Ha!  I think it's craft supplies! 

My stepmom is a super talented seamstress whose specialty is party dresses.  Recently she told me that she'd been out shopping for a first communion dress for her granddaughter and was thrilled to find one in the desired style on sale for $30.

"Mami, aren't you making a dress?", I asked.  "Honey", she replied sadly, "The fabric would cost $90."

At this rate I really believe that fewer and fewer people will be experiencing the joy of making something with their hands.  Very sad.

It's been bugging me that I neglected to acknowledge your comment about winter depression.
