1  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Winter Holidays / Doctor Who & Internet Themed Ornaments on: December 26, 2010 03:04:24 AM
Here are some ornaments I made as Christmas presents for friends:

One loves Doctor Who, so I sewed a Dalek and a Tardis.

Another is really into this website he uses, so I made him the little symbols (an orange envelope symbolizes a new message, a blue downward arrow is used when vote against something, and an upward orange arrow is for voting for something) they use.

Everything is made out of felt.
2  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Completed Projects / Fright Fest Suitcase on: October 15, 2010 11:46:27 AM
One of my friends loves horror movies. So I made her this suitcase.

Some pictures are historical, such as images of the plague and witch burnings. Others are just scary or creepy ones I found online. The movie pictures are from: Ginger snaps, Night of the Living Dead, Halloween, Friday the 13th, Nosferatu, Pan's Labyrinth, Dracula, The Wolfman, Psycho, the Addams Family, The Shining, Dead Alive, Evil Dead, Hellraiser, Tomb of the Blind Dead, Suspiria, An American Werewolf in London, Frankenstein, Bride of Frankenstein, Spider Baby, The Exorcist, The Ring, Dawn of the Dead, etc.

3  PAPER CRAFTS, SCRAPBOOKING & ATCs (ARTIST TRADING CARDS) / Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Vintage Altered Vanity Case on: May 24, 2010 06:18:36 PM
This suitcase looks amazing. The monochrome pictures and lace details work really well together. It is a bit hard to tell from the picture, but are they all different actresses or is it mainly one actress?
4  PURSES, BAGS, WALLETS / Purses, Bags, Wallets: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Birds of all feathers flock together on: May 24, 2010 03:41:25 PM
Thank you!

Lanysmiles, it is actually just fabric paint. Once the layer of blue was done, I took a foam brush and put a very small bit of white fabric paint on it. Once all the paint gets used up, it makes a feathery look when you run the brush along it.

On a long ago whim, I bought several 1970s bird books from the thrift store. They soon sat on my shelf, forgotten and lonely. So recently I sliced them to bits and used their innards to decorate a small suitcase.

Inside I painted the sky:

You're welcome. I'm glad you like it as much as I loved the package you made.

The hair clips are made out of an old dress. I heat sealed the edges with a candle.

8  HOME SWEET HOME / Crafty Housewares: Completed Projects: General / Steampunky Clockwork Lady Silhouette Key Rack on: February 27, 2010 11:04:51 PM
I've needed a key rack for ages (both for my bunch of vintage key and regular house keys), but never got around to doing anything about it. So finally I made one last night.

The painting is acrylics and the frame/rack is just a bunch of copper wire we had laying around in our garage.

Oops. I'll be sending a day late too then. Sorry.
