1  Re: Puffles, a penguin and 2 aminekos in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Sappho on: March 17, 2008 11:09:21 PM
Alrighty so I made a couple Puffles for my friend's birthday this weekend. He works for Club Penguin and has always been especially fond of the black Puffles. So I made one for him and for his wife.

I added a little flower for the girl Puffle

and they have smirking mouths - which you can barely see because of the black on black but they needed mouths regardless.

My friend just loved them. Thanks again for the inspiration Teachingjonah Grin

2  Seija Set and FBB in Projects from The Happy Hooker by Debbie Stoller by Sappho on: February 02, 2008 07:32:12 PM
So I got my HH for christmas and finally got around to posting some pictures. I made the Seija Set for my baby niece using Bernat satin and Vanna's Choice (for the pink, because the Bernat satin pinks were too bright for my taste). I loved the colour combinations in the book - as a general rule I like to my own thing but I love pink/brown/white.

My apartment has terrible lighting, but this is pretty close to the colours. The white is creamy, not a crisp white, I quite like it.

And my first FBB. I have coveted this bag since I first saw it and (since discovering SWS) knew I'd make one in Natural Crimson. I got some not bad cotton plaid and the handles at Fabricland. The lining actually matches better than it looks like in the pictures.

And the lining, I used a double thickness for extra fullness in the bag.

Thanks for looking  Smiley

3  Scarf and a Tea Cozy (somewhat img heavy) in Crochet: Completed Projects by Sappho on: December 06, 2007 10:04:36 PM
I've been having issues with my camera but finally got a couple more projects loaded up to share. First is a scarf I made for my Mummy out of the Bernat Bamboo (colour is Dill). Interesting to work with, was really soft, but got fluff all over me. Not super long but wide to cover the neck well without having to zip the jacket up to your chin.

And a detail pic.

Looks a lot more grey than it actually is. Nice soft green (the rest of the colours of were really pastel-y and Mum doesn't do pastels)

And a fulled tea cozy I made for my grandma. First fulled project and I really enjoyed it. I used SWS in natrual geranium. I fell in love with the colours and since her kitchen is in beiges and pinks I figured it would work. I'm not super happy with the final shape but it looks neat and will keep her tea warm.  Cheesy

Pre-fulling

And Post, but of the opposite side, hense the different pattern

Sorry for the blurry. There is a hole for the spout, though it doesn't look like it.
That's all for now, hope to post a couple other things I'm working on if I can get my camera card to like my computer again  Cry

4  Baby Set in Crochet: Completed Projects by Sappho on: November 22, 2007 01:32:47 PM
I just spent the last while making a baby jacket, booties and blanket for my sister-in-law. Baby is here now and luckily I got everything finished. I just wanted to share this, I am immensely proud since this was my first project of this scale. Usually I make scarves or doilies, lol.
Sorry for the pics, I was having flash issues.

5  Re: Octopode Pandemonium! (Now with Tutorial!) in Amigurumi: Completed Projects by Sappho on: November 22, 2007 01:23:09 PM
I also made one for my new baby niece, and also stitched on eyes. Now apparently I have to make one for a friend's birthday... he just turned 23, haha.
