21  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / O(h)M(y)G(uinness)! on: October 13, 2010 01:58:56 PM
Hi guys!
So while out at goodwill one day with my mom I saw a great Guinness (Irish Beer if anyone doesn't know) tee. One little (or maybe I should say big...) problem.
It started out as a guys M!
I happen to be a girls XS.
I bought it anyway ($3!) hoping that I could resize it in my typical no sew fashion, but it wound up being the first project I ever used a sewing machine for! I was super excited.
With help from my Aunt (a lot of it. Like I said, I'd literally never sewn anything with a machine before. She got the machine set up and showed me where everything was.) and this tutorial:http://community.livejournal.com/t_shirt_surgery/2050500.html I now have an awesome new shirt that fits me much better!
Picture time!

This is what I wound up with. Smiley The tutorial shows how to reattach sleeves but I decided to cut the neckline and turn it into a tank top instead.

That is what I started with. I had already cut the sleeves off when I remembered to take a before picture. Haha.

I decided it needed a little something more, so I "braided" the back. I found a tutorial awhile ago for how to do this but I just have it memorized now. I'm sure I can find a tutorial video if someone wants one though.

and that's a picture of one of the side seems, because i'm still happy for myself with how they turned out. Haha.

Thanks for looking! Smiley I'm a little early (Ok, maybe a lot.) but i'm thinking it'll be perfect for St. Patty's Day.

Super awesome!
I saw the police call box in the thumbnail and was like "Ohmygosh! Dr Who!" Smiley Haha
23  CLOTHING / Clothing: Completed Projects: Reconstructed / Re: Holy stencils, Batman! on: October 13, 2010 01:13:42 PM
I am so going to have to do a pair of batman (most likely Joker so be more specific. Wink ...) underwear! Haha.
24  IMAGE REPRODUCTION TECHNIQUES / Other Image Reproduction Techniques: Completed Projects / Re: Slytherin Quidditch Hoodie on: October 11, 2010 11:27:09 PM
(Bumping up an old thread but I just had to post.)

Oh my goodness I have that hoodie!
and this is an excellent idea of a way to make it something i'll wear again as I don't a whole lot right now.
Thanks. Smiley

Would you be ok with me joining because this would be my first craftster swap?
27  ORGANIZED CRAFT SWAPS / New Swap Theme Ideas / Re: Kingdom Hearts swap 2010 on: October 11, 2010 08:09:55 AM
I would adore an Axel (or Riku, or Roxas...) plushie. Oooh Neoshadow too.
A whole set of KH themed plushies! Too bad I have no idea how to make plushes at all. Looks like I may have to learn...

and I adore that hat, but I'll agree with the non-practicality of it. I probably wouldn't wear it much. It's sooo awesome though.

Hmmm, alright, well thanks for the info. I'll have to look around. Maybe if I can't find that exact one I can find something similar. Smiley

Very pretty. Smiley

I really adore the lantern style one you put beads in. Do you remember for sure where you got it so I can go search for one? (It already takes me hours to actually get what I went in for and leave at craft stores, so narrowing it down to only one store would be super helpful. Haha.)
