1  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Zombie Hello Kitty on: August 21, 2009 10:06:06 AM
This is an embroidery I have been wanting to do for some time now, and when I received my glow in the dark thread from SS, I knew I had to use it on my Zombie Hello Kitty! I also traced the design onto stabilizer that was ironed onto black fabric. I used the glow in the dark thread for the spider webs, and I also used it to wrap around the stem stitch I used for Hello Kitty's head, eyes, nose, arms, and legs, and her wound stitches.  The glow in the dark thread is extremely hard to work with, and suggest using it like the way I did with her body and not the spider webs- that way your only wrapping your other stitches, and not using it to do the stitching.
This design was an original design from my brother Ronnie at Flesh Gear @ Chicago. It was already a tattoo, but I turned it into an embroidery design with permission from Ronnie of coarse:-) You can see the original tattoo here

This is for a swap- for a lover of all things zombie  AND hello kitty :-)

Thanks for looking and any questions and comments are welcome!

2  NEEDLEWORK / Needlework: Completed Projects / Frankenstein and his Bride on: August 14, 2009 10:21:15 AM
Hey there, I've long since posted pics of my works. This will be my first post with pics I believe in 4 YEARS! I hope you enjoy these lovely creatures as much as I enjoyed making them...
The images are designs my brother who is an amazing artist in many ways- tattooing, airbrushing, and anything really this man can draw let me tell you. He works at at tattoo shop in the Chicago area, and these are designs he drew in one of his sets of flash I have. I stitched them up and tinted them with colored pencils. I'm going to frame them and give them to my brother Ronnie to display by his chair in his shop. He loves them. I do to! They were done in mostly back stitch for the bride, and stem stitch for Franky, but there are some french knots, satin stitches, and maybe a few others I'm forgetting. I also used metallic thread in both- green for Frankies chemical beaker, and silver for her eye shadow and streak.

So, what you do think?
Thank you for checking them out! If you have any questions about them, feel free to ask!

Happy Stitching Ya'll!

3  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / Brainstorming for Ideas for a Pirate Birthday Party for a 1 year old on: January 12, 2009 08:19:39 AM
I've been brainstorming for ideas for activities for a pirate bday party for my soon to be 1 year old. I've been collecting things over the past few months for it, and have a few ideas for it, like a treasure hunt, and I have a pirate pinata, but was wanting more things to do for all the kids in our family, there will be @ 30-40 adults and children there.  I thought of "walking the plank" but need an activity for it. I was hoping some of you guys have had some pirate parties, or have some great brainstorming capabilities. HELP! His whole room is pirate themed, and have all the banners, and cake toppers, and pirate toys for gifts for prizes and such. What else can I do?HuhHuh Huh
