Oh Laundry Bunny, I'm glad the shirt fits! and yes the beads on the drink charms says "minum" (drink in Malay). Here's a photo of them that I took:

Anyone for a 'naughty spread pool'?
Apparently that is a mop.

HAHAHHA that's hilarious!! naughty spread aye! I've got to use that in my daily conversations!! Cheesy

Oh and that gives me an idea, you remember engrish.com? Maybe if we could craft something like that (wrong usage of english) as a pun, it would be so funny!

i know, right?!  how cool to just be READY for that day you finally meet an Inuit person.  or Javanese.  or ... ?!

ETA:
just curious, is anybody into ConLangs?  (constructed languages)
i prefer the feel of organic languages (the ones that "just sort of happened") but i know a lot of other language buffs love conlangs, too.

speaking of organic... i almost forgot to ask if anybody is into creole (mixed) languages like the Kreyol of Haiti (which i mostly understand but don't speak, i just think it's interesting), or Spanglish, or Singlish...

Cool! I speak Singlish (but I try not to, it's not encouraged as a teacher!)

Hey! Those are really nice invites! It was like dejavu when I saw the Dr. Seuss card, my professor read that story out to us on the final day of class. Smiley
7  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Misc. Gift Idea Brain Blockage / Re: THE GENERIC BOYFRIEND GIFT THREAD: A How-To! on: April 15, 2009 02:32:42 AM

So for the big gift i'm getting us tickets to a red sox game. I bought him some candles and a twilight zone shirt too but I want to make a few things and I'm not coming up with enough ideas.

Oh wow, the sox game! That's gonna be fun!! how bout something like "you're my perfect catch" or some cheesy/cutesy line to go with the tickets?

If the game's in Fenway, maybe have a dinner at the baseball traven near cvs? Its a really cool place with a replica of the green monster and all! There are some other good places to eat a block parallel to the shaws supermarket (italian, thai cuisine). I also love ice cream from cold stone creamery at landmark centre (near best buy).

Hope it helps!

After breaking up with my bf of nearly 3 years, I realize that even though circumstances changed, I really treasured him more than a friend. I know it's not an extravagant gift for the break-up/getting back together or im-sorry-gift, however, i thought of some things that may not be too much for a old/new relationship.

So after agreeing on getting back together, I wrote a letter to him; it was like one of those cheesy penpal columns in magazines back in the day. So in this letter, I introduced myself, likes/dislikes, hobbies, favourites, etc. (it didn't matter if he already knew it or not, the point was to start anew! Wink) I think it helps the cheesy-ness factor by a fake penpal column in a 'zine you created. I think it'll help if the zine's in line with the dude's interest.

I'll be giving this to him in a couple of minutes when i get to his place, i hope he likes it. *fingers crossed*

9  OCCASIONS AND HOLIDAYS / Party Planning / HELP!!! Graduation Party 4th July/Boston-theme: Location?? on: April 09, 2009 10:18:59 AM
Hey Craftsters!

My idea for my graduation party is to have a 4th July/Bostonian theme (I'm from Singapore and went to Boston in the summer for an immersion program-- i study early childhood education).

I was wondering what would be a suitable location to hold a graduation party for about 30+ people? (The house isn't an option  Sad ) Most of the venues that are available house larger parties (100 and above). Do you think that having a party at a restaurant is suitable? Are there any other locations that's fitting for 30+ people?

Please share your ideas, I've got a little over a month to settle the venue (party's in June)! I hope to hear from the ever-helpful crafters soon!! Thanks!
