I got a tattoo from a friend of a friend in April, and instead of cash, I paid him in cake.  I made this for his girlfriend's birthday on May 20th

Vanilla buttermilk cake soaked with buttery rum, and layered with caramel buttercream and dulce de leche caramel.  The top of the machine is made of rum rice cereal treats.  It is hand painted with 24carat edible gold, and edible silver.  I made the wheel on the back out of gum paste, painted it black and brushed it with a little bit of silver.

I picked up some really nice snowflake foil organza a little while ago so I could make a spectacular Snow (drag) Queen outfit for the bar in December.  I found a pattern that was really good, but wanted a puffy skirt.

It was very time consuming to do the strips of fabric, partially because my fabric was fraying like crazy!  I used a tealight candle to melt the edges of all my strips to keep them from unraveling (and to keep me from having to machine finish the edges).

I just used some lame for the yoke.  I LOVE how puffy it is

And for my niece (as a surprise Christmas present), a cute flannel jumper.  Her mom already told me no jumpers/dresses/anything REALLY girly, but it's ok because this one has Batman

 
And for my goddaughter, a cute Halloween/year round outfit from Simplicity 3509.  I used snaps at the back instead of a zipper (just because I didn't have one haha)

There was an explosion of babies in my circle this year:
Crystal (friend) had a baby boy in June
Megan (cousin) had a baby girl in July
Lindsey (friend) had a baby girl in August
Amanda (SIL) had a baby girl in September
and on top of that my other SIL is expecting in April

So I have done a lots of baby sewing!  These first 3 are from Simplicity 2613, very cute and easy to follow.

All made of flannelette, and the giraffe has a ribbon mane

This one is from Simplicity 2763 (retro toys); also easy, but I found the patterns very small.  The dog was about 3.5-4" tall.

My SIL and my friend are both due at the end of August and neither knows the sex.  I took a gamble and made 2 quilts: one boy and one girl....I told them they had better not mess things up by having the same sex haha

First one is based on tumbling blocks, which I found the stencil for here: http://www.quilterscache.com/images12/TumbtempA2.gif I just printed this out and added 3/4" all the way around for nice big blocks to show off all the cute fabric.  I was also inspired by this post http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=329953.0

For the girl one, I sued the same pattern piece and made rows of diamonds.....which are WAY HARDER.  I also forgot to iron my backing fabric, so there are a few permanent wrinkles

I saw this fabric months ago, and decided to make a purse for my boss, as it's her favorite movie.  I used Butterick B4822 view C

The only thing about making this that sucked was the fabric was a very one directional pattern, so I almost ran out of fabric!  I have some pretty decent sized scraps left though.  Anyway, thanks for looking
