Since my ther slippers are so old, and i wanted to make new ones i tried to make a sole out of hemp. Im looking for a good pattern for soles. I would really like to have a seperate sole that i can stitch later on to the rest of the slipper/footcozie because of the hemp (dont want my slipper to be completely out of hemp haha). i was searching for a pattern or tute, and i tried somethings but nothing didnt come out jet... can someone help me?
i have moved to norway for one year (maybe more) and since i am here i would like to contineuing crafting of course. I only do not know where i can find some stuff, allready found an yarn store but there is not everything i like to use.
im located one hour away from Oslo, everything in about 2-3 hours away from oslo is reachable for me at the moment. Otherwise it doesnt also really matter if you have real good adresses for stuff, because i plan to visit other places also in the future.
what am i searching for? well im searching for bone wich i can make bone needles and other art from (so that will be pieces of bone wich are at least 10cm long), and im searching for organic cotton and hemp yarn.
made this handwarmers lately and wanted to show them. I actually like the pattern, but in wool it's not very flexible all the time, maybe is should make the next ones just a little bit bigger... well here they go:
short tutorial, I hope im clear. I left my pattern for it at my home country, more or less 1500km away from here. I there is intressest for the real pattern i can put it up around december.< here it goes:
i used 28 stitches with a 5mm needle to can go around my wist and arm (this was a little bit to thight for me, and i have really small hands), You need to make sure that it fitst around your hand when putting them on. I begun in the bottom of the handwarmer, and when i reached the point where my hand starts to be wider (somewhere by the thumb) i started to add on the side of the thum. i just moved and stretched my hand on all possible ways to be sure if it was fitting good and just adding stitches when was neccessary. than i came on the point that i was above my thumb, and i just joined the parts that was covering the hand with some stitches in between (i think it was 4) to make sure that the thum was still free to move, than i worked to the top again. Increasing and adding when was neccessary.
I was thinking about a primitive crafts swap, such as stone age tools and things. Made from stone, leather, fur, bone, wood that kind of things... maybe wool, but that wasnt really something that is really stone age (at least not where i come from) but still a very old craft of course. Also maybe some how to instructions if there is interest for that...
This is my first kind of wallet ever, i just started sewing without a pattern or something and this is what came out! i'm happy with it, and the person i made it for also so it's ok!
I used fabric that was not wearable as pants anymore (really my bf weared it untill it was ripped everywhere but he totally weared it (and i repared it) untill it was not really acceptable anymore by people who love to have clothes with no holes and even by the people who don't mind a few holes haha), and a piece of leftover curtain wich was leftover because the curtains where to long.
since i'm a little bit sewing again i wanted to show you one of my first projects made 2 years ago, and even it is the last big project i made so i have a lot to remember and learn again . Voor een recycle en natuur project ben ik op zoek naar de onderstaande spullen. Voor alle artikelen geld wel dat deze goed schoongemaakt worden voordat ik ze kom ophalen of dat ze gebracht worden, dit is om vieze toestanden te voorkomen. de dingen die ik maak zet ik neer op een website (deze zal ik nog een keer neerzetten als deze wat meer op poten is) zodat de ideen wel vrij verspreid kunnen blijven. Nette spullen die ik niet kan gebruiken die overblijven van het project zal ik gewoon weer verdelen onder de mensen met intresse.

stof en garen -kleding & tassen!!! die niet meer gedragen of gebruikt worden,waar gaten inzitten of iets in die richting. -gordijnen en vitrage oude gordijnen, couponnen en stukken die over zijn.
hout onbehandeld of behandelt, geverfd is ook niet erg. het liefst echt hout, en niet geperst. triplex is ook oke, balken enz zijn ook altijd welkom. Het liefst niet kleiner als 10 bij 10cm.
papier en klein karton enveloppen, papieren met grote vlakken wit of effen. ansichtkaarten en andere briefkaarten
uit de keuken en boodschappen ijsstokjes van hout!! oude lepels van metaal
schoonmaakartikelen en verpakkingen oude ramentrekkers
overig houtwerk vlechtwerk (manden enzovoorts) resten verf (acrylverf, plakkaatverf, muurverf, zijdeglans, hoogglans) oude kwasten spijkers, schroeven
Ik dacht dat het een leuk idee zou zijn om overgebleven materialen en andere materialen die overbodig zijn, voorwerpen die ge-craft worden, en misschien ook andere dingen te swappen zodat we op een leuke en inspirerende manier gezellig bezig kunnen zijn en ook misschien nog wat van elkaar kunnen leren.
als er ideen zijn voor een swap, ik denk dat de richtloijnen een beetje algemeen zouden moeten wezen, zijn ze welkom!

So that's why i made a bag of the granny squares.
