That is sortof brilliant!
THIS IS AN AMAZING IDEA!

Thanks guys. I forgot to mention: In some of the more boring boxes (just mini candy canes or chocolates) I included activities for us to do. I wrote on a small strip of paper and made it into a scroll and tied it with the same candy cane striped string.

Hey all!
I made another advent calendar this year. I started hunting for ideas back to october for advents. I searched everywhere and was almost going to pay someone on etsy to build one for me! nothing seemed right- or cheap enough!

So i decided to make it the stress- free way, by just wrapping 24 presents. That's all.

It turned out to be such a good idea because we can take them with us to open them even while we're away for the weekend. Enough talk onto the photos!

Group shots:
All tags stamped by me.

Take out boxes! If you don't want to wrap 25 presents, I HIGHLY suggest these. It made my job so much easier- and 8 less presents to wrap! I think they're so cute

Some presents even have little jingle bells!

Storing them on the window sill

And just 2 more of my favorite ones..

If anyone's interested as to what's inside, I stuffed them with Willams Sonoma chocolate  strawberry bites, baby candy canes, holiday tissues (for the runny nosed people), dollar store things, things from 5 and below (BEST store ever) and puzzle pieces. I bought a Christmas puzzle from the dollar store and distributed pieces throughout the boxes!!

6  MISCELLANEOUS TOPICS / Discussion and Questions / Building a wooden advent?? on: October 16, 2008 09:53:34 AM
Hey all,

I made 2 advent calendars last year out of styrofoam, but this year, i want to make a permanent calendar. I was thinking wood and without doors. Kind of like this one: http://www.designmom.com/2007/12/ask-design-mom-advent-calendars.html
I LOOOVE it!!! and i would buy it from Pottery barn and then paint it myself, but it's 2 years old!
Any suggestions as to how to go about doing it would be great!

Here are mine from last year:

Oh and i already thought about 25 little individual boxes but that would get pricey and annoying

Thanks!!

I was driving today and next to me was a catering van. On it, there was a fruit bouquet.
I recalled seeing yours here on craftster. Honestly, the picture on the truck looked JUST like yours.
Great job.
