This is just a little side project I've been working on aside from my crochet obsession. Smiley Hope you like!

2  stars made of straws. and misc. :) [tute on pg. 2] in Paper Crafts: Completed Projects: General by xvietgrlx on: January 11, 2008 10:54:21 AM
I've finally fixed my camera after about a year  Grin and so I finally get to start my very first thread on this board! Yay!

I've been so obsessed with making these stars from straws. They're so cute and simple Smiley and I'd be happy to write up a tute if anyone's interested! The only bad thing is the straws have to be sort of long, or else the star ends up looking kind of funky  Undecided but if anyone's up for trying it, let me know!

Next is a heart made out of ribbons. This took me forever to make.. but it looks gorgeous, so it's totally worth it. Smiley

And lastly, to pass the time whenever I got bored of my other projects, I made these cute little boxes from paperboxworld.googl epages.com.  They take about a minute to do, but they're so adorable. I'm definitely putting them on display on my boyfriend's bookcase  Wink

3  a month's worth of work. [img heavy] in Crochet: Completed Projects by xvietgrlx on: January 11, 2008 10:45:34 AM
Finally! My first thread! I've been a lurker on here for about a year, and just recently signed up... but now I've finally found a worthy reason to start a thread! So here goes Smiley

Earflap hat! I've been drooling over everyone else's creation, and now I was finally able to make one I was satisfied with. It was originally for my boyfriend but apparently it doesn't fit his ginormous head... so now it's mine. Smiley I basically used the pattern for the "Anarchy Irony Hat" from SnB, and then mod. it to add earflaps.
One thing: I wasn't sure how to attach the braids, so it looks a little funny. Any suggestions?

Next is a headband based of off this thread: http://www.craftster.org/forum/index.php?topic=160533.0. It was so amazingly cute and easy that I had to do it. And she was right; it only takes about half an hour!

And some unfinished things I wanted to share. I've made about a bazillion of those snowflakes for next Christmas (haha I'm getting a biiiig headstart!) and I just have to starch them now.  And the head thingy is my beginning for Lucy the Turtle Girl, from here:http://www.etsy.com/view_listing.php?listing_id=8825625.  I accidentally left off about five rounds so she's a lot smaller than she's supposed to be.. and I only had 10 mm eyes that made her look like a bug, so I decided to try to embroider her eyes on. Still need to work on that... and I don't like the color of her skin, so I'm going to buy more yarn later today. Smiley

Whew! That was a lot. But I'm awfully proud of these, so comments appreciated!
