How gorgeous! Did you get a yukata roll or just normal fabric?
Thank you. The fabric is a normal seersucker from Spotlight (local craft store in Australia).

Lovely project! I would love a kimono of my own. If I could make one without sucking that'd be great! Even just a simple one. Love any tips or tutorials you could point me to!

I have a Japanese Kimono pattern book for kids but I don't really understand the instructions. I used my own Yukata (store bought) as a guide too.
I had problems finding a tutorial for kimono/yukata in English online which was why I bought the book from eBay. Smiley

noooitaremybirthday, Sammo6661Deth, stylinmommy, TeenyBunny, amalgam, Handmadekitty, h0p31355, takie.cudo, Graciechan and wifeofbath,

Thank you all very much!
And to answer some questions:

- My mum who is a seamstress taught me to take measurements of my daughter and then we figured out the yukata pattern from a Japanese Kimono pattern book (I'm very bad in my Japanese and didn't understand a lot of the instructions!).
We also used my yukata as a template.

- We are in Australia... it's the wrong season for fireworks. Hahahaha. Wish we were living in Japan!

Your daughter is adorable Smiley

I love the kimono! The fabric choices are fantastic - so girly and summery! Took a look at your blog and must say that the way you tied the obi is absolutely freaking CUTE!

Added your blog to my list of must reads Smiley

Awww thank you so much. You've spurred me on! Cheesy

What a precious little model you have for such an adorable little kimono.  Thanks for the smile and memories of a unique culture.

Thank you very much!

It's comfy as the fabric is soft and light but the obi (sash) keeps falling off! Maybe I didn't tie it on correctly.

Hello everyone,
I sewed this about 5 months ago and it only just turned warm enough for my 2 year old girl to wear it. Smiley

Hello!
First of all, thank you everyone for your comments! Appreciate it!

I made another bag, same design but added a buttoned closure as well as an inner zippered pocket.

I'm still jittery about posting a tutorial - I would love to share how I made this bag with everyone! But just too afraid to get into trouble.  Embarrassed
